I like this modest, Italian café, stocked full of hearty Italian foods. It was a café that I’ve always walked past, opting instead for the other food places along the row. One afternoon, I ended up stopping here with my partner, as he didn’t fancy a pie from Pieminister, and he is a huge Italian food fan. It looked very busy as usual and when I looked at the prices, I could see why! Not that people go there just because it is cheap, but it is cheap and very tasty indeed. I had a tomato and basil soup with bread, and my partner went for a huge piece of lasagne. The food hit the spot, it’s lovely and wholesome Italian food, packed with flavours and spices. After your lunch, have a coffee afterwards too. Pretty good.

Beautiful Italian food, made by genuine Italians! No fake moustaches here. Even though all of the food in St Nick’s Market is pretty fantastic, I really love the garlic, olive oil fuelled dishes they have here. Such amazing value for a delicious lunch. You have to try the lasagne with a piece of garlic bread and a cappuccino, it’s like being in Northern Italy(or Southern Italy, I don’t know, I’ve never been, it just sounds like the right thing to say) and my Italian friends swear by this place. I just sit and tuck into my lunch while the sound of cheeks being kissed and ‘ciao’ greetings fill the air behind me. This is the best lasagne you’ll get in Bristol because it’s made with love by the experts. They take their food very seriously. You get a generous portion and there is nowhere better to sit, people watch and soak up the atmosphere of St Nick’s Market in the heart of Bristol.
