They have opened a bar in the square which gets busy and divides their attention. Often staff passed us with food and boxes of drinks to replenish the bar almost 100 meters away from the restaurant. Nice staff but a bit rushed on a summers day.

It may be my local so it could sound like I am favouring this place, BUT it truly is great in every way. What more would I want from a restaurant with nice Filletto Steaks delicious wines and tempting deserts. This is just the start, as the guys and gals down there know how to make me feel at home. PERSONALLY I prefer Piccolino’s to other Italians as they have a fresh English twist on things so I like that. If you ever want to know more then contact me as I am in there often! :))

Piccolinos is my favourite place to go in Bristol. Whether it’s just a drink outside under the heat lamps and comfy seats or a formal dinner inside — absolutely perfect. Food is always top notch. Steak it a winner and so are the pizzas. Great bar staff so cocktails don’t disappoint and they have a rewards program so eg. You spend £10 and have £1 to spend. Perfect.

Have eaten here a couple of times now and have found the food disappointing on both occasions– had the ravioli di zucci(butternut squash ravioli) and got a poorly presented dish of about 7 or 8 ravioli in a watery butter and sage sauce for £11.50.

Great atmosphere, fantastic food and a full bar. We went here for Saturday lunch having said we should try it for years, I’m very glad we did. The greeter at the door did very well to accommodate us off the cuff with many reservations seated. The atmosphere is great with sleek black tables offset by green leather chairs in a low light setting. The food is great and prepared fresh by the chefs in the open kitchen at the back of the restaurant. The choice of drinks is superb and supported by a full bar — I highly recommend you try the espresso martini! My only criticism is that when busy there can be a delay in asking for the bill as the service staff seem to vanish once you’ve eaten. Overall a lovely, slightly out of the way dining experience. Perfect for when you feel like spoiling yourself just a little.

After arriving after a long, long flight from LAX to Amsterdam, and then from Amsterdam to Bristol for work, I just wanted to relax and unwind. I was staying at the Marriott City Centre — which is just across the street when the staff recommended the restaurant. When I got there, I had to wait a while at the bar for my table. When I asked them how long it would take one hostess who seemed bewildered said 30 minutes. I gave her a dubious look– the couple who came in after me was just seated before me. When I asked the head hostess the blonde, she said, «Yes, we’re just laying out your table.» After I sat at my table– I waited over 15 minutes until someone even gave me water or even asked what I would like to drink. It seemed busy– there was a large table but it was only a Wednesday night– around 8pm, not the busiest hour. My waitress, Emma was most hospitable. Although I asked her for bread a few times, and it came after my appetizer, she made the best recommendations. I had the Frutti de Mare Risotto– it was like I died and gone to saffron heaven. I finished it off with some Lemonicello, and a hazelnut carmel gelato which was delicious. Overall: 1. The food I cannot complain– it is delicious but its italian and I love italian. 2. Service– can be late, and perhaps it was overwhelmed by the big party table. But overall the staff was very generous. 3. Nice atmosphere, great location.

Piccolino in the new-ish Quakers Friars district is ever-so-slightly tucked away, so when faced with a Saturday lunchtime queue at Carluccio’s and a 45 minute wait at Brasserie Blanc, we decided to give Piccolino a try. If you like the colour green you’ll feel very much at home, with green upholstery adorning every possible surface contrasting with the sleek black tables. They do a set lunch deal but we opted for a couple of dishes from the a la carte menu. My seafood risotto was yyyyyyyummy, and I went for the small portion so I could have a side dish of courgette frites, which were ddddddelicious. All in all a nice restaurant, though we were made to feel a bit chavvy when asking for butter to go with our bread(I LIKEBUTTER).

Insalata Caprese followed with Swordfish Peperonata and blueberry cheesecake to finish. Magnificent, Nastro Azzuro, Frascati and a limoncello for drinks. Bristol’s Piccolino restaurant restores your faith in eating out. The caprese is simple and yet elegant with subtle seasoning, indicative of a great talent in the kitchen. The main wad of a high standard also, no different than a Mediterranean sea front restaurant, superb. The desserts are what we came for. While shopping in the nearby Ted Baker, I wad told of the amazing deserts. The cheesecake made with vanilla seeds was delivered with not only quality but quantity. The staff were attentive and handled themselves well in a busy service. Even when you had a problem with the clientele leaving the doors ajar, they were quick to apologise. The four start rather than five denotes a room for improvement they lack only in the front of house when coming to fine application to time keeping and the slight lack of attention to the door problem. Whilein Bristol you have to visit if you fancy true Italian style in a vibrant and confortabley lit sanctuary of foody delight.

This is yet another Italian theme chained restaurant and one that begs the question, why? Was the food good? Yes, it was pretty good, I had tortellini bolognaise and as pasta dishes go, it was most satisfying. Was the drink good? Yes, I had a glass of red(can’t remember what exactly) and it was most pleasant. The service was pretty good, the décor was quite nice, the ambience of the room was just right, everything about it was pretty much spot on. Not complaints at all really. It did lack that independent charm as it felt almost too shiny and new, but if you’re walking by and think, Italian, that’s what I fancy, you won’t be disappointed. I wouldn’t go out of your way to eat here though, it’s no better or worse than any other Italian chain, which brings me back to the original question, why?

What a dissapointment! Service was slow and the food was extremelly overpriced and nothing special. The place is fantastic inside, with a fantastic deco and atmosphere. However the slow service and food let the place down in my opinion.

Our second visit this last Saturday Night, to celebrate a friends birthday. had a lovely table on the balcony. Friendly and helpful staff. Our food was delicious! My partner and I are vegetarians, a great selection to choose from. A good selection of wines at a good price. Desserts… um tasty! Would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.

Love it! Love it! Love it! Have always turned up without booking and they’ve managed to seat us, great choice of food and wine. Friendly, unhassling staff! Although a chain a great and chilled atmosphere and completely different, to the Piccolino’s we visited in Cheshire!

I Really really like it here. Great service and nice staff. The bar area in a nice are to go before you have your meal, good to meet people there and have a drink. It has a good choice of Italian food, cooked very well and great quality. I would recommend this place to anyone one who like Italian food, think of San Carlos but slightly cooler atmosphere.

The latest branch of this chic Italian chain, I found Piccolino a great addition to the Quakers Friars area(the posh bit!) of Cabot Circus. The décor is glam but inviting, and the place has a good Saturday night buzz. The menu offers all the Italian favourites from antipasti, pizza, pasta and meat mains to tiramisu and ice cream, and the pasta is freshly made in the restaurant. The pizzas were slightly uninspiring, but delicious pasta dishes such as tortelloni bolognese, trofiette with chargrilled chicken in parmesan cream and a varied specials menu more than made up for it. Delicious desserts and a good wine list too.
