I’ve been wanting to try the New Moon for while, but for some reason not got round to it. But last week my girlfriend and I made it for a tapas at lunch time, and it was great! The New Moon has a different menu that is inspired by a different country/continent every 2 weeks. They also have a tapas menu with dishes that are regularly added. Takvor, the owner, is one of the nicest businesses owners I’ve met in a long time. He is a big guy with a big personality, but he is very inviting and really personable. If it was just a bar then it would definitely be one of my locals. The restaurant itself is quite small, with only 7 or 4 seater 8 tables. The décor is pretty basic but it’s feels very comfortable. The door at the back of the restaurant leads out to an awesome garden with a large, open gazebo with a long table that would probably fit 20 people. We ordered 5 dishes from the tapas menu: patatas bravas, stir fried red cooked pork, chicken wings, venison meat balls and ‘roasted red pepper, aubergine and tomato dip’ All of which were absolutely delicious! I particularly liked the stir fried pork which was tender but chewy, but in a really nice way. The sauce it came in was really sweet and sticky. I love the fact that the meat balls came with moose shaped pasta! Bit odd, but a nice touch. I’d really like to go back and try some of their main, world inspired menu. And I will. Soon!
