Thank you Nichole & Tom! I purchased a 2nd hand Canon 17−55mm lens from you(over the Phone after looking online) this week and it arrived a day after purchase exactly as described and I am extremely pleased with it! Admittedly there was a little delivery hiccup(City Links fault security wise and they have been told) but I am really pleased with your service and am recommending you whole heartedly! Thankyou!

Mmm… so many beautiful cameras. The window display alone is enough to get me dribbling on the window, but today I actually went into double check the price of a camera I am looking to buy(if you are a Unilocal Fan and reading this Father Christmas I want the Olympus Pen E-P2, Pleeeaassee! I’ll be really good). They actually have one of the best ranges of cameras in Bristol, with an excellent selection of the more affordable and older second hand cameras & lenses to the brand spanking new, stunningly beautiful and expensive cameras that you see in ads on the TV during the commercial breaks for big expensive movies. I believe the best way to sum up their range is using prices, £200 — £2,000 +. But they have all the Canons, Panasonics, Nikons etc and the staff are very knowledgeable about the different cameras, which is a hell of a lot more than you can say for some larger electrical goods store chains. They also buy & sell cameras so you can trade yours in for an upgrade.

This little shop is a great camera specialist, and the staff are really helpful if you have any camera related questions and interests! They sell a variety of different cameras from the more snappy every day ones to professional SLR’s, and they also run an exchange programme where people bring in their old cameras if they want to buy a newer model. This is great if you want to pick something up a bit cheaper — although second hand, they are thoroughly checked over so will be in perfect working order! If something goes faulty too they are more than happy for you to bring it back. From the outside it’ looks like pretty average, not the most attention grabbing window display — and the place is pretty small — but they are well stocked and there’s plenty of camera related equipment to browse for! Recommended for photo fiends who love their photography.

London Camera Exchange doesn’t look too much from the outside but don’t let appearances put you off. They have managed to cram a lot in here considering the size of the place so it will probably take a good half hour to browse all they have to offer. I love anything to do with taking photos. My Facebook has over 150 albums(they must hate me!) therefore I like to think I know what I am talking about! Having said that the staff were able to teach me a thing or to about which cameras are good indoors/outdoors/underwater/skiiing. In fact if you have any camera needs, check this place out as they know what they are on about and the prices are really competitive.

Into photography and looking for a bargain? Here’s your place. The London Camera Exchange have a variety of both new and used cameras, along with all the peripheries required for good photography, such as lenses, flashes, good quality film and paper(if you still do it the old way). The prices vary with the quality and age of the item, but you can pick up a good second hand Canon(the best, in my opinion) for around £100. They rate each item with the state of their condition, and do so pretty fairly so you can have slight faith that you won’t be ripped off. I’ve been in to this branch on Baldwin Street a few times, both buying and selling, and the staff have always been particularly helpful(and weren’t even too pressurising when I was trying to sell something, which could happen in other places). Even if you’re not into photography you can pick up a decent camera here so cheaply that the interest could easily start flowing, without hurting the bank balance.

The smaller of the two London Camera Exchanges in the town centre, you will find this on the busy junction on the other side of the square from the Hippodrome. Their second-hand section is better than the bigger store — some in the window and more inside annoyingly positioned behind the counter so you have to stare behind the staff to see what is there. To be fair, there isn’t any room for anything else than a counter with some shelves behind it! So it makes it hit and miss for some of the random peripherals you might need in certain sizes. I haven’t bought anything big from here — I did once come in here and ask about buying something and they tried to push me over my budget so I left but I have been back for smaller items.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll have bits and bobs lying around the house from various lenses, to removeable flashes, various memory cards — CF, SD — the list goes on and on and on. This could be from old-school manual cameras to the flashy new digital ones, to the more simple auto cameras that are handy and light to carry around. Anyway, I thought to clean the clutter from my house, I’ll bring them to the London Camera Exchange. The staff were really really helpful, even though I can be not the most coherent of people when I’m easily distracted. The great thing about this little shop is the fact they stock second-hand as well as new parts, so it’s all a bit of recycling, and maybe someone will want the part you don’t. I managed to offload all my bits and pieces and purchase a lovely tripod, and a new lens for my Nikon camera, which I’ve been looking for, for ages but was slightly hesitant about paying the high steep prices(especially if I know I can pop on a plane to Japan for a nice holiday and buy it there for half the price in the U.K.). Generally though, it’s like a little treasure hut, you never know what special things you’ll find on one day(some days are better than others for dropping in, but that’s the fun of it!)

The London Camera Exchange is a supplier of cameras and accessories. You can buy and sell new and second hand camera bodies, lenses and kit. One of the only chains to supply second hand cameras so brownie points for that. Helpful dedicated staff, this particular branch is one of the smallest but don’t let that deter you, as I found the lens I’ve been looking for here.
