Jeevan Sweets is a Pure Vegetarian sweet shop specialising in Indian sweets. They serve Indian sweets and savouries and curries. They claim 25% of their sweets are Vegan, but, I really doubt that! The prices are outrageous. In the name if Indian sweets, they are actually ripping the people off! They sell the famous Indian street food called Panipuris. So, I went. They charged me £7 and gave me a box of hollow puris and just one small box of filling and 2 boxes of tamarind water! I asked for a little more filling, and I was told that I have to pay extra!!! Two punjabi samosas for £1! The same stuff can be bought from ASDA for a price of £4.99 for a bagful of 20 frozen samosas! Same is applicable to the Vegetable Spring Rolls as well! Available in ASDA. Now, let’s come to the famous Indian ‘heavenly’ sweet or the ‘Sweet of the Gods’ called Rasmaalai. £1.50 for just two pieces, which will melt in your mouth in a minute. TESCO Extra in Eastville selling the same for £4, in a box which: Contains more quantities, is more creamy and yes, more tasty and tastes near to the same variant available in India! The only reason to go there is for Ladoo. Again putting a flaming matchstick in my wallet! £1 for 2 tiny pieces! The day, I learn to make Ladoo myself, will bid adieu to this super expensive place! Advise: If you want to be economically clever, clearly, don’t visit!!! At all !!!
