J. Singh Newsagents and Off License

In the quite secluded location that is St Johns road you would find yourself walking quite a distance to get your food shopping, and without a car the journey home is never a fun one!
J Singh is a good place to go as a stop gap. The selection isn’t great but they have enough foods to fill up your shelves and help you out off that dreaded supermarket visit for one more week.
Because they only stock one or two varieties of each product it means that if you need something specific you can’t really browse for a cheaper non-​brand alternative, this also means that it can be a little pricey, but when you are supporting a local business you don’t feel bad about stumping up the extra cash!

One of a few multifaceted newsagents come convenience stores on St John’s Lane, it’s a wonder they all stay in business. But thanks to a community of local business devotees, this little shop seems to be thriving. Boasting a selection of groceries, snacks, household products, alcoholic and soft drinks and the usual array of newspapers and magazines, there’s little in the way of convenience items that J. Singh doesn’t stock.
Word of warning, though. Due to hassle from local kids, the shop has a strict ‘two children at a time’ policy. Just in case you were planning on bringing the herd…
