This is such a fab little find if you are setting up home and want a bit of grandeur at a reasonable price. I don’t have a need for a fireplace or stove at the moment but will be going here the second I do. There are frequent sales on and they do incredible wall mirrors with gilt edging or ful-length mirrors that are like something Marie Antoinette would have posed in front of. And they are all really reasonably priced and beautifully laid out. I bought a gorgeous gilt effect mirror for above the dresser in my bedroom and although it cost just £60 it looks like it should be worth £300 or more. The shop-owner is also really knowledgable about fitting fires and safety risks and gave some friends of mine who wanted to buy a stove for their fireplace some really handy advice. They cater for the really stately and grand homes right down to the rustic and stock a range of contemporary and traditional styles at really eye-opening prices.

Opened relatively recently in Clifton Village Flaming Fireplaces has a huge number of fireplaces and above fireplace mirrors on display and many, many more available to order. They really do cater for all your fireplacing needs, from the traditional to the contemporary and from gas to electric. You have to seriously like your fireplaces as it’s really quite expensive, but then, I suppose a nice fireplace is really. To be fair, the often seem to have special offers running, and though I can’t be sure, it felt like the sort of place that if you show real interest in a fireplace they’re willing to knock a little bit off to tempt you into buying it. They also have a complimentary range of home and fashion accessories. If I were an interior designer, I would love this place.

Flaming Fireplaces have a vast selection and designs of fireplaces for your home. Their selection ranges from contemporary and modern designs, to traditional and marble styles. Price wise, they aren’t cheap. However, you will find your pocket a little better off than the nearby Grate Expectations, so it would be worth comparing both these shops to see if its worth the money splashing out. Staff were pleasant but not as helpful as I would have liked. This could have been due to me blatantly not being able to afford anything in here though. Apparently they get very busy in the Autumn and Winter months and advise you to ring in advance to book an appointment. I have never seen it busy so I am not sure this is necessary though. Do check out the January sales though as they knock off a good 20% to the RRP.
