The Ferry Station is one of the first things you will spot when arriving at the harbourside from town and it’s not a bad shout as a first port of call for a coffee or a bite to eat. They’ve got two decks so you can sit up top sunning yourself or head in for some protection from the elements(I would say depending on what time of year it was but judging by the past few ‘summers’ we’ve had you can’t even go by that anymore!). They serve sandwiches, flapjacks and other sweet treats and everything you could want for a satisfying lunch. Quite a few professional types from the nearby offices, including Burgess and Salmon go there as well as the odd creative type taking a client out to lunch. The Ferry Station also takes part in a bike hire scheme so you can see the city in the best way for an hour or two or even the whole day.

I always used to be a bit wary of this place — I’d walked past it plenty of times and had only ever witnessed a few, bizarre events taking place above deck. One day I summoned up the courage to actually go and check it out and to my pleasant surprise, I found a rather excellent café. The food is great, organic and locally source(onto a winner already in my books) and very tasty. The prices are very reasonable and there’s also free WIFI available, which makes the Ferry Station a viable alternative to that other great WIFI sanctuary, just across the other side of the harbour — the Watershed. The fact that it’s on a boat is a bit of a novelty, but it’s the quality of the food and service that has kept me coming back.

Is breakfast your favourite meal of the day? Is a boat your favourite method of transportation? Wel you are just in luck my friend, I know just the place to take you! The Ferry Station on Bristol’s Narrow Quay will you give you a hearty breakfast at a reasonable price and start your day the right way. The views are great, the service is friendly and there’s always a busy, buzzing atmosphere going on below deck. It’s a little bit out of the way from the shopping district, but definitely worth a visit before a long walk along the water.

The Ferry Station Café is located at the centre of Bristol, just a stones throw away from the Bristol Hippodrome. It is a wonderful little café with a difference — it is on a boat! I popped in for a lovely cup of strong coffee with a pleasant view over the harbour. The food here is really very good. They do very good breakfast, ranging from a classic fry up to honey oat porridge. The also do a selection of brunches and lunches which again is very good. The prices are very reasonable too, therefore i would definitely recommend this café to spend a pleasant afternoon.
