I was recently trying to purchase a gift for my sister’s birthday. I was thinking some jewellery in sterling silver.
I managed to spot this shop as I was walking through the shopping centre. I enjoy shopping in small jewellery shops Bath or Glastonbury a lot, as I like the interaction with the staff, who tend to have more knowledge and are more willing to care about what you need.
On entering the shop, most of the staff (wearing their uniform) were gather at the till –talking. I wandered around a little, and wanted to buy an item, but couldn’t get hold of a member of staff, who were too busy — chatting. So, I decided to shop elsewhere.
On leaving the shop, I was asked if I needed any help. It was too little, too late. So I went nextdoor to Pastimes whose staff immediately sorted my needs and even told me about various promotions they had in-​store. Will be reluctant to go back to Essential in the future.

A small shop at the Mall with lots of silver and costume jewellery. Like the review before states, it stocks jewellery from suppliers like Hot Diamonds, Kit Heath, Navajo, which hold some lovely unique pieces. It also stocks Fossil, DKNY, Diesal, Swatch and budget watches Eton brands.
Inside it’s clean and tidy, with colourful displays of costume jewellery, and grouped silver selections.
The staff are polite, helpful and attentative, which is very refreshing. On buying a birthday present, they helped me pick items out and then gift boxed it, explaining various benefits as well as explaining guarantees and exchange policies. This was welcome to know prior to purchase, as so many times I’ve made a mistake buying things and realising it was the wrong item (I don’t pay enough attention beforehand, I go into shopper’s mode!)
I really felt welcome in the shop, and the prices weren’t actually that bad. Prices range from 2.99 for a pair of earrings to 20.00 — 30.00 depening on the style and the stones set in it.
When I returned a few days ago to purchase the same earrings for myself, they had unfortunately sold out. However, the staff quickly telephoned other stores of the company, and ordered it in for me. I was really pleased to know that they went that extra mile to help me. Essential is definitely a place I’d visit again.

a tiny shop on the bottom floor of the mall. but quality not quantity is an appropriate saying here. This jewellery shop boasts unique silver pieces… ideal for gifts suiting every occassion.
It carries branded watches such as storm and fossil and silver jewellwry with diamonds — ‘hot diamonds’
If you wish to purchasr the sterling silver pireces… they are not cheap, however they are very unique looking designs and are of good quality.
