Pizza so far removed from Italy it’s not even funny. Stodgy, soggy dough topped with uniformly small toppings and plonked in an all you can eat nosebag (OK it’s a buffet bar).
Nailsea’s not the most glamorous of locations, but Deep Pan Pizza takes the biscuit. Sullen staff mingle with unimaginative diners (I went there out of hunger). The chairs are red plastic and it all feels a bit like dining for beginners.
One positive thing I can say — the free refill soft drinks are a revelation and the sweetcorn and sliced red onion salad was crisp and fresh. Compared to Pizza Express (or Clifton’s delectable Pizza Provencale) this is like a trip to Bognor Regis rather than a holiday in Bologna.
