Carpenters Arms

This is a lovely country pub, a little gentrified and friendly landlord with high standards. They are well known for their food which is meant to be good. There is a restaurant. However, my mother and I have wanted to like the food over and over again and feel there is a lack of understanding of food. It’s cooked nicely but without the sort of understanding we hope to expect in places like this. But I am a vegetarian and so this amy well explain things. They can make something veggie for you but it will not overwhelm you. I prefer the more ordinary bar food.
They have very nice rooms and packages. Many people come from London and far away places to come here. I believe they have a website.
