Airport Tavern

Visited the Airport Tavern on our last day in England, when we stayed one last night near the Airport. It was the closest pub.
Outside and also the inside are not very inviting and it felt a bit strange at first. A horse race was on TV which every guest and the personnel followed with interest. We chose a table and waited a while until the bar lady explained, that we have to order our drinks and food at the bar.
While we were waiting for our food, we had a good view in the kitchen and the chef was busy preparing the meals of some other guests. One of them had a complaint about his steak and everything was solved in a very respectful manner. The chef then showed his guest his meat and he could decide, which he prefers.
After that we had our meals (Tavern Burger and Beer Battered Fish&Chips) which was exceptional delicious. We were really surprised in a very positive way. Also the chef, who brings the food by himself was at all times super friendly and attentive. Additional to the standard menu, the tavern offers on boards daily specials, which all sounded very interesting and yummy.
The facilities and furniture are old and very used, and the tavern is separated in the restaurant and the bar with billard (pool?) and gaming machines.

This is a review on the parking service not the pub as never went in the pub…
The parking was so easy to book and i booked the day before aswell. Really cheap and paid on their website. Arrived on the day and spoke to friendly man in the carpark hut who advised we what to do on return and gave a lift straight across in theyre own minibus. Which is less than a 5 minutes drive away and dropped right outside.
On return we just had to phone a number to get picked up again. And collected key! It was the easiest and quickest parking service ive experienced! Will be definalty be using again! :)

Ok so I actually have no idea what the pub itself is like. However the Airport Tavern run a hugely helpful Airport parking service. It costs a fraction of the price to park here compared to at the airport. You park your car, deposit your keys and then a mini-​bus brings you right to the drop-​off point at the airport. Upon your return, you go back to the drop-​off point and call to say you need picking up.
It’s a fantastic service, very convenient, once you have used it you will never pay the overinflated airport parking prices again!
