Quite simply the best coffee in the city, if not the world. The van is on the centre, not far from Neptune’s statue. Fair trade coffee, tea, muffins, snacks, really friendly staff and there are even blankets for when the outdoor seating gets a bit nippy.

Situated within the heart of the city centre is a coffe stand that has evolved into a full size trailer offering lovingly brewed coffee at fair prices from fairtrade sources. Sure it isnt cheap, but the quality is excellent, and the growers reap the rewards as much as your tastebuds

I have to say, I love the mochas from this place. Located on the Central Promenade, it’s in a perfect location for commuters and gives an ethical alternative for that essential, early morning caffeine fix. It always used to perk me up in the mornings, not just because of the coffee, but because of the staff. There’s one girl in particular, with bright blonde dreadlocked hair, who, rain or shine, always managed to put a smile on my face. It’s not just me either — I’ve heard from numerous other friends(both male and female) who have had the same experience. So, thank you, blonde girl, for making the start of the day a little more bearable for all of us weary nine-to-fivers.

It’s Monday morning. You’ve got to be in work at a ridiculously early hour. You’re tired and angry. You see A Fair Cup on the Central Promenade. The sky clears, the sun appears, and a smile spreads across your face. Life is good again. This may have been a slight exaggeration — but A Fair Cup certainly felt like a Godsend whenever I needed a caffeine boost before an arduous day of work. Open from 6:30am during the week, this fair-trade coffee unit serves tasty, hot drinks at a reasonable price. Used to serving rushed office workers, they’re great when you need a coffee in a hurry.

A Fair Cup is so easy to find. In the docks area, it’s the stall just behind the ‘climbing frame’ structure on the Central Promenade between the Hippodrome and Baldwin Street. You can also see it in the mornings from the queue winding around from the hatch. The delicious coffees(smooth not bitter), teas, and hot chocolates all fairtrade accredited and less than £2 a pop. If I wasn’t such a loyal customer of Baristas, I’d go here every morning.

Within the hustle and bustle of Bristol City Centre, there is a small haven in the shape of A Fair Cup. They provide the most lovingly made hot drinks that taste so good you’re convinced they’re bad for you. As you drink you are safe in the knowledge that even though what you are warming your insides all the ingredients are Fair Tradem so you are doing your bit for Farmers around the world. It only loses out on the price — take your extra pennies.
