Whatever your choice of sport is, you should check out the stock at Swift Sports. An independent business run by genuine sports fanatics, it’s a deceptively spacious shop that stocks a big selection of clothes and equipment from British and European manufacturers as well as labels like Nike and Adidas. Alongside shorts, tees, football kits and boots, they sell cricket bats and balls, tennis and badminton rackets, snooker cues and boxing boots and gloves.

There’s a big fight coming up between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Shane Mosley. I recently watched the first episode of HBO’s award winning series «24÷7» which gave viewers a look at their personalities. It was magnificent, and the programme got me in a boxing mood.
I’m a very skinny fellow, and have been poked fun at for being skinny. Even though I laugh it off, there’s a part that holds the anger I feel inside, and I think it’s about time I unleash that anger. So when I walked into Swift Sports, I headed over to their Boxing/​Martial Arts section. I tried on some boxing gloves, punched the wall, and then got tired. I put the gloves back, and then walked over to the tennis section.
This is such a fantastic place to buy sporting equipment. When I picked up the Wilson N-​Code, the representative came to me and asked me if I needed any help. I replied: «No». He smiled and walked away. I then gave the racquet a few swings, and that was that. There’s really just so much to choose from. A fantastic store.

As a big tennis fan, Swift Sports is an absolute ‘god send’. Not only do they stock a very good range of rackets and tennis balls, they also offer an extensive re-​stringing service that is particularly hard to come by in this area.
Like Marc said, they know what sports people want. It isn’t a glamorous shop by any means, but all the products they sell are of a good quality. At JJB you can buy a below average tennis racket for about £100, they just dress it up nicely and try and convince you it’s good.
If you come here though, the rackets are all are picked to cater for varying tennis styles and needs, equally they can advise you on which racket will suit your game best.
I can’t speak highly enough of the gents who work here, or the things they sell.

There’s a good variety of sporting goods on offer at Swift Sports, and if I were the age where I wanted to be getting football boots, this’d be my location of choice. It looks small from outside, but the store is pleasantly put together, and surprisingly deep so that you’ll find there’s more variety on offer than you may be expecting.
The really special thing about this place is T-​shirt printing. If you want your name or whatever putting on a jersey, then this place will do it at a damned descent price, at a good speed (if the machines warmed up) and to a fantastic quality. I came here with a friend when he was preparing his best mate in America’s 21^st birthday gift and have to say, that even as a novice to this kind of affair, I could appreciate why he dragged me through the rain soaked streets of Brighton to get here.

This independent store sat right next to the Royal Pavilion is a real gem of a shop that has only managed to stay in business because it knows what it’s real sports people need. The shop looks small from the outside but as it is set over 2 floors it increases the floor space dramatically.
The beauty of this shop is that it offers equipment for sports that you can otherwise struggle to find and they can give you a good insight into what equipment will suit you best. The 2 guys that own it I am almost certain are father and son and everytime I go in there they are both there involved in something.
The first time I found out about this shop was when my friend took me to get his shirt printed with his name and number which they do brilliantly and can do all the proper lettering for most sports which really helps to make your shirt feel real. If you need something please go here first as this local shop really deserves, and has earned, our loyalty.
