I wish I could step back in time, but as the technology hasn’t been invented yet, I have to settle for the experience that is Step Back In Time. This shop sells vintage collectibles, all neatly organized and easy to sort through. It’s an opportunity to see prints, images, gifts, trinkets from the times of old. I just spent my time going from shelf to shelf, wall-to-wall, looking at images, and playing around with the collectibles. The staff is friendly, and will just let you browse around. There’s a lot to go through, and if you’re into nostalgia and are looking for a good gift, this is a good place to stop by.

I wish I had more time to look through Step Back in Time — I’ll definitely return to have a closer look at the huge selection of images and metal signage. Each are categorised into intriguing sections, like Romance, Food, Drink, Sports, Tobacco and Alcohol. Old advertisements are so interesting to look through — I loved the print of an old Weetabix ad, and the shameless promotions of tobacco. The images would make great and unique gifts for anyone nostalgic, or into pop culture, and the photos of soccer teams would probably be a hit with sports fans.

Located just down from the station, Step Back In Time is basically the definition of a retro experience. This store is an aladdin’s cave of period prints, postcards and colectibles, ranging from 1960’s Jack Daniel’s advertisement’s to wartime photographs, and old Brighton and Hove Albion team photos. There’s a huge amount of items in here, so I would imagine that anyone whose interested in finding a print, or something cool to adorn their bedroom walls, will find something of interest. Prices are ok, with period prints costing around £7.
