This is a really cute little independent shop in Fiveways. It stocks a selection of individual and unique jewellery, handbags, kitchenware and gifts, as well a small selection of clothes. Some things were a little pricey but there were various things available to fit every budget. Everything in the shop seemed well chosen and handpicked with care by the owner. A great place to find the perfect gift or a little treat for yourself!

I love this little shop — it is a Godsend(and I don’t even believe in God). I work along Ditchling Rd and any time I need to buy a last minute gift for someone I always head to this one shop in my lunch break instead of walking down to the plethora of London Rd shops which are roughly the same distance. They sell a nice blend of homeware, jewellery, handbags and cards — perfect for presents. I am extremely picky when it comes to present-buying as I will only go for something that I would genuinely want to receive myself but 3 times this place has done me proud. I bought a lovely blue glass jewellery box(a bit vintage Moroccan looking though as far as I could tell it was brand new), a turquoise bracelet and a useful yet stylish compartmentalised perspex makeup box. I am also very pleased to see they stock the Nigella Lawson kitchen range which is brilliant but I don’t see in many places. I don’t think even Steamer Trading has it. Some items are pricey, such as the handbags but you can see they’re good quality and if you’re looking in the £10-£15 gift price bracket there’s always something to be had.

Despite living just around the corner from this place I’d never popped in there until yesterday… and it is absolutely beautiful — from the pink and white décor to the beaded jewellery, gorgeous leather bags and floaty, frilly tops and dresses. The toiletries and cosmetics they sell, made by Nougat London( ), come in in wonderfully unusual smells like Fig and Pink Cedar and are so stylishly packaged they’d make amazing gifts. They’ve also got lovely little manicure sets and compact mirrors, handmade chocolates that look far too pretty to eat and a homeware room at the back selling some brilliant kitchenware including these indexed chopping boards by Joseph Joseph: which I find very exciting(as far as chopping boards go). I also really like their range of original(and practical) perspex jewellery and cosmetic holders. Their various ranges of crockery are very cute too, my favourite being the spoof Keep Calm and Eat a Cupcake pink mugs. Genius. I love shops like this, and now I know there’s a fantastic one less than a minute from my front door… well, God help my bank balance. Living at Fiveways is, of course, rather off the beaten track for those who live in the City Centre, but is a brilliant asset to the local row of ‘village’ shops up at Fiveways and well worth the bus ride up Ditchling Road. The woman I spoke to in there was so incredibly lovely and friendly, reminding me of what I love most about the community spirit up here.

This is a charming shop. The woman who owns and runs it has a great eye for useful and stylish kitchenalia, design classics and some handpicked women’s clothing and accesories brands. The shop is decorated in bright feisty pink and lots of lovely white wood. They have some great bags by a company called Rubber Cow co. made of fantastic looking fake leather– big slouchy day bags. They also stock Nigella Lawson’s kitchen line in creams and blues and the Joseph Joseph line of cool kitchen items like their foldable chopping board. There is some lovely jewelry, glamorous lamps and gift items. Take time to have a look– it’s obvious that a lot of time has been put into picking these lovely items.
