I sure hope that Lebara is the best pay-as-you go option, because I’ve been spending a lot of money topping it up. I usually just send a few texts, and make a couple of calls, and then I always get the«Your call credit is getting low» message only a few days after I topped up my phone. Easy News was another newsagent where I had to get another £5.00 Lebara phone voucher. In addition to top-up services, they have the usual assortment of what you’ll find in a newsagents: magazines, newspapers, snacks, drinks, spirits, etc.

The sign is bright pink and the name is Easy News. The contemporary use of the word«easy» has transcended its meaning of something being simplistic, facile, or achieved without much difficulty, to be related to someone that is promiscuous or sexually available. I don’t know why I always think of this use of the word when I see this shop: like contained within this den of printed promiscuity are stacks of dirty little papers who want to be picked and have a right good time. I guess this just says something about my character! Well, it is a pleasantly easy experience at Easy News. Walk in, choose your paper, chocolate bar, cigarettes, or alcoholic beverage of choice, pay, then leave. Can’t get easier than that, can it?

This is a nice little newsagents/convenience store just down from the Station. The staff are friendly, and the selection of magazines and soft drinks is very good. Indeed I was most impressed to see some healthy drinks items, like Purdeys and Suso, which aren’t stocked in a lot of the newsagents I frequent. You’ll also find cigarettes, snacks, a small spirits section, and an adequate selection of convenience items.
