The pub has a very large footprint and subsequently looks empty even with quite a crowd in. They currently serve an excellent breakfast with a drink for just £5 and the food was well cooked and good quality. Beer is a little dearer than the nearby Witherspoons but this means the clientelle are less likely to spoil your enjoyment. The landlord is friendly, helpful and a genuine sort of guy, with the staff we encountered during the weekend being personable and efficient. Draught beers were good [he keeps a good pint of ‘cask’] and cleanliness of the place and the glasses were good also. The place has a good ‘feel’ to it and has a ramped entrance for disabled access from the main road and a level access to both male and female toilets [the male toilets were clean and not ungent] I can’t personally comment on the ladies but my wife said they were also clean and dry.
