It’s hard to go wrong with such a beautiful setting but then again many restaurants have done in the past. The food probably doesn’t quite live up to the surroundings and because of the large open space with high ceilings the amotsphere can be a bit stilted at times but I maintain this is the nicest place to eat in the centre of Bridgwater. The food is nice but nothing special and is affordable. Certainly worth checking out if you’re looking for somewhere in the town.

Best place to eat out in central Bridgwater. Prices are pretty good also!

This restaurant is the best branch of Prezzo I’ve visited, comparing very favourably with the Taunton branch. The surroundings help: it’s in part of the Cornhill market building, and the room which I remember as full of stalls selling cheap scent and dishcloths is now revealed as a very attractive space with some lovely original details. The food is decent chain food, with a wide range of Italian dishes. Portions are generous, dishes are tasty and there’s plenty of choice. Service is lovely: I’ve always found the staff very helpful and friendly. Having eaten here on various occasions, I’ve found it the best option in central Bridgwater.

Very pleasantly surprised. Went on a packed Saturday night, fully fully booked up. Good food, good service, tardis like building. Great grilled goats cheese. Recommended

This was an unexpected treat. Of course it is a chain, but you may be very pleasantly surprised. The building is very striking, being the old market place and most recently it was an ironmonger’s. Very fancy facde for an ironmonger at that! Their is a lovely sense of space inside and the outside is lovely… I’m not good at describing architecture, but their is a beautiful arc of original columns that they have glazed, so to speak. See it and you’ll understand what I’m trying to convey. It was cold outside but was lovely and cosy inside. The house red was very nice. The olives particularly yummy. The menu is extensive and it’s hard to chose something from it. If you like rich sauces, then this is heaven. I was looking for something lighter and found it hard to chose something. One of our number had a ice-cream/hazelnut bombe with meringue inside, which sounded really impressive. When it arrived, it was not — more ‘dollop’ than ‘bombe’. I was sorry there was no tiramisu on the menu. Bur the panacotta comes recommended.

This is the only higher end restaurant in Bridgwater town and although we have been a number of times I cannot say it is a great experience as it will always be down to how busy it is and what staff are on duty. The food is pricey and there is not a lot in the quantity line if you are looking to fill your belly. Portions are small and sometimes the quality of the presentation and the food leaves a lot to be desired. Your experience will also depend on what staff are on duty. Most are foreign and some of them find it an inconvienience that you have arrived to disturb their social chit chat club by expecting to be served and are quick to show their displeasure. A warning for those who like a quiet evening dont sit in the outer glass area as the local kiddy morons like to stand outside and make gestures or stare at you. Its a real shame as Bridgwater needs better quality places to eat and we were excited when they opened but the staff need a real shake up and service needs to vastly improve before we go there again.

This is an new Italian restaurant that has opened on the Cornhill, it is very nice inside and has a light airy modern feel a bit like Pizza Express. I was impressed the first time I came here, it is a nice addition to Bridgwater which doesn’t have many good places to go for a meal. I went here on a big work lunch and the food was really nice, they have a wide range of pizzas and pastas to chose from and some times have lunch offers to save money. The only negative is that when we went there for lunch we had to wait for absolutley ages for our food to arrive which made us late back to the office! This could have just been because we were such a large group and it may have overwhelmed them slightly.
