I have just had a really nice meal here. The Seabass cooked in rock-salt was well presented and filleted at the table and came with chips and vegetables. It was mid week and by the time I was leaving the restaurant was quite full. The décor is pleasant and the service quick without hurrying you at all and polite. I hadn’t intended eating here but I’m glad I did. As the filleting at the table added to the enjoyment of the food it showed they cared about what they were doing and so they get a rare 4 stars from me. With the mussels to start and a pint of bear I paid about £26. X = You’ve gotta be kidding me XX = trying but not reaching the standard expected or advertised XXX = achieving the standards expected/advertised however high that might be XXXX = they’re doing something special here, above expected standards of service XXXXX = WOW! you gotta go here!

The food itself was excellent, the experience was let down though by the rushed service and apparent desire to have us served and out as fast as possible. We were seated in a corner next to the bar, surrounded by the drinkers and loud talking which ruined the atmosphere appropriate for having dinner. The starters were delicious but our mains were served the instant we had finished and felt as though they had been kept warm for some time. The waiting staff hovered over us throughout the evening and did not ask at any point if we were happy with our meal or desired anything else. The gathering of people around the bar area took what little space there was around where we were eating and made it difficult to move. Though the food was very good, the poor service, lack of courtesy and pressure to have us out as soon as possible is more than enough to never eat there again.

Lovely restaurant with a good selection of Tapas. It is also resonably priced with good value for money, in comparison to other tapas bars, such as the chain La Tasca. The staff are friendly and service is good. There is also a nice atmosphere and there’s a really Spanish feel to the place.

Poco Poco is Bridgend Towns resident Tapas Bar. The food is amazing, and the service is also very good. It is owned by Franko, who also owns and runs Zia Nina which is situated less than 30 seconds away. They have a good selection of wines on offer at very reasonable prices. My only gripe is the fact that there is only one toilet per gender(and a disabled toilet) which means you can be waiting to use the toilet for a short while. However, the toilets are very clean. It is very reasonably priced.

Run by the same team who own Zia Nina round the corner, Poco Poco is a great addition to Bridgend town centre. This Spanish restaurant has a good selection of food, and the restaurant itself is nicely decorated, with an excellent friendly atmosphere. Staff are always busy — but friendly and efficient. I definately reccommend the lunchtime menu — A starter and a main for about £9 is excellent value. The choice is limited to about four items for each course — but there is always something that takes your fancy — and it doesnt dissapoint when it is served. Food is fresh — there is a semi open kitchen so you can see the chef’s at work while you are dining. The investment that the owners are putting into their resaurants in Bridgend really seems to be paying off as it is always busy in Poco Poco
