A very grim shark came over to me the other day, I could tell it was a shark because of its Grim Fin. It’s actually named after the employee-only parking spot in Landover Maryland(FedEx Field) of RGIII, because it’s the only place where you will ever see Griffin Park. Thank you to Chun for this idea. Speaking of FedEx, why are they always giving food to my former flames? First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium — this is where Brentford play and I’ve been here only once and it was ages ago. It’s a lovely little leafy suburban stadium in the rich part of London. I went with good friends from Oxford and we had a lovely time despite getting soundly beaten. I was younger then and I remember how much it used to excited me to go to new stadiums. I’m looking forward to going back here again in the next few years. It’s not far from my hometown of Oxford. I’ve been to most UK&US stadiums, due to lifelong obsessions with travel, sport & especially footy(soccer to Americans). Born & raised in England, I followed Oxford United(hometown team) to stadia all over the country at away games, and later Liverpool(fave team) around. Every stadium review — like all my reviews — are from first-hand personal experience, usually from several visits. In 2011, I was on music tour in the UK, and visited most stadiums for fun in my spare time. As recently as Fall 2014, when I was«stuck» in UK for 3 months, I went to hundreds yet again while travelling. I have pictures of me at most, which I’ll post later. Also, when back in UK I’ll take more pix, and add more stadia! *** return to regular review *** This little 12k stadium in Hounslow in West London is the only football ground in England to have a pub on every corner, how fun. It’s a classic little stadium surrounded by fairly affluent houses in a fairly well-to-do part of London. It was built in 1904 and seats around 13k. Brentford won all 21 home games in 1929 – 30, leading to the term«Fortress Griffin Park.» If you’d like to see my Fortress, come over to my place around 11.30.

OK, first a confession: I am a lifelong Brentford Fan so this review is biased. Having said that there is something special about Griffin Park. Brentford have been playing here for over 100 years so it has a real place in footballing history. The BIAS or Ealing Road Terrace is still an old school standing terrace which, to my mind, is the best way to watch football. The atmosphere amongst the crowd here is also better with plenty of singing and banter with the away fans. Beyond that the stadium is not terribly well equipped due to it’s age. Don’t expect much from the catering but it’s there, as is a bar and though much of the stadium is unaccessible the club goes to great lengths to accomodate those with mobility problems in the bit that is(Braemar Road — The Bees United Stand). The club shop is decent and located outside the stadium in Braemar Road. The piece de resistance though is one of Brentford’s great claims to fame. It is the only football ground with a pub on each corner.
