Well, its a Wetherspoons so not much really need be said! This particular venue is absolutely great for us when we go un to stay in the Bradford Uni Halls though, as its so close and convenient. We go there for breakfast and lunch as they have a wide selection of dishes and the prices are good. The pub is quiet as there is no music playing-which is a welcome break. It is also well lit and spacious with high-vaulted ceilings. It’s relaxing and you could easily spend quite a while here chilling out:)

Ahhhh… The Titus. For Infest Festival attendees it is a welcome sight for sore eyes(although I imagine it’s avoided by the locals around the festival time). Located around the corner from the university, it provides a good place to grab a cheap drink and a bit of serviceable grub when taking a break from shenanigans at the festival. I can only give a review of my experiences during the festival weekend(as I have very little call to visit Bradford otherwise), but hopefully it’ll give you a good picture of the pub. So, the Titus Salt is a 10 minute walk away from the Student Union or around 5 minutes from the closest halls of residence. It’s on the line of shops down from the Sainsbury’s and a little further down from the various fast food offerings along the way. It’s actually a pleasant looking building and has a reasonable amount of upkeep(meaning it’s less… errr… undesirable than many of the other Wetherspoons offerings I have visited). It has two main areas inside. The downstairs bar and the upstairs gallery(where you can get a good look at who is coming into the pub on the ground floor). The bar takes up the length of the back of the building and they always have a pretty good offering of ale, cider and spirits(as you can imagine, being a spoons). The food is always OK, although they have a tendency to run out of things during Infest(bread and bacon being two main offenders). The service has always been pretty pleasant when we have visited and there never seems to be any problems with the locals and the visiting gothic contingent(although the clientele is 90% goths when we visit). The venue is always kept fairly clean and tidy. In summary… I guess it’s nothing special — but it serves a purpose for a long weekend of dancing and drinking.

Like it a lot. Used to be my favourite place when I was here. Lunch time and dinner perfect. Also a good English breakfast if you’re hangover. Haha

This is part of the Wetherspoons chain so it’s the same as all the rest. I went here last week and the service was great and the food was good, it was only 5 minutes after I ordered when I got my food. The people who served me were very polite and helpful, the layout of the pub is nice however more comfy seating might be nice. Would recommend this pub to anyone for a cheap drink and some food.

Food arrived cold; Matt team leader has appalling manners. I have to admit that it was 12.10pm on January first when my wife and I arrived at the Sir Titus Salt in Bradford. The Bar was very quiet and I am assuming that the bar man Matt, had been up late the previous night but that is no excuse for his appalling attitude toward my wife and me who are both 70. At the bar when I ordered our meals he never once said please, or thanks throughout the whole transaction. I decided not to say anything to him about this, but then the meal was cold on arrival at our table. I believe that it had been warm when it was left out, but staff chose not to deliver it to the table until it had gone cold. As it was the first day of the New Year again I made a decision not to cause an argument. Half way through our meal, Matt the team leader approached our table which was inside one of the booths and reached over between us to pick up a card from the rear of the table. The space between my wife and me was only about 18 inch and he was so close to me that his hair brushed my face. He never uttered a word or excused himself as he leant over our meals. The man has appalling manners and we won’t be eating there again.

Sir Titus Salt at the bottom of Great Horton Road in Bradford is a Wetherspoons pub and very popular with the locals, especially students. It’s a good place for a cheap pint and a cheap meal — cheap being the operative word, as the food was often cold in the middle from being poorly microwaved — and no matter how you asked for your steak, it came like shoe leather. And often your main and dessert would come at the same timenot good if you ordered ice-cream. Still, for what it was it was OK. The staff were pretty nice and the place is huge so there is always somewhere to sit. There’s also parking over the road. A six out of ten for me, now I’m not a student I wouldn’t go back but when I was I was always in there.

This has good pub food, pretty similar to most chain pubs. The menu is what you’d expect, and the value for money is good. You can also get real ales which change every once so often, and general drinks prices are very good. If on a night out this is a good place to start before you head to the more expensive bars that are local. When busy the service isn’t great.

This is a great pub to start off in before you go anywhere in Bradford on a night out. The food and drink is extremely cheap, as you would expect from any weatherspoons. It usually gets quite busy on a friday and saturday night, so get there early to get your seats. Especially handy if you are off for a night in the Alambra, or the studio next to the Alambra. The beer is extremely cheap and they normally have a rotation of guest ales on at great prices. They also have meal deal nights in the week where you can get a meal and a drink for under a fiver.

This is a really nice pub up the west end of bradford which is very popular because it is the type of pub the regulars go in. It is full with old and young alike but mostly the young are just dropping in on the way to clubs. The atmosphere is really nice and friendly. The food is lovely — it is the normal bar food with lots of deals to be had. Their steak pies are lovely and the mash is so yummy. They sell traditional beers and ales and also new ones and cocktails for the missus so that keeps her quiet. You can sit downstairs in the cosy chairs or with the kids upstairs in the family area so it isnt over run with kids with them being separate family area. the prices are ok and not dear. A good night/day out.

This is a lovely pub in a lovely old building up west end of bradford near the college. The pub has two floors with the top floor being for families which is good because you can choose whether to sit up or down. Upstairs you can sit next to the balcony and look over it to the downstairs — it gives it an unique feel. They serve some nice food here which is decent price and quality. They serve the normal pub grub like burgers, chips and fish and chips to paninis and currys. They also offer desserts and coffee. The prices are ok and they do some good deals too like buy 2 meals for a certain price. The beers and wines, spirits, cocktails list is extensive and the pricing isnt too dear with lots of offers to be had. The ladies toilets are upstairs so be prepared. The ladies loos are lovely — they are so luxurious with lighting, mirrors and posh sinks. The staff are lovely and friendly. A good night out to be had here.

Another of the Weatherspoons chain of pubs, this one is in an old Swimming Baths. There is a warm cheery atmosphere upon entering, expecially in winter when there is a large fire blazing in the middle of the pub. The food is good, even though it is identical to all the others in the chain. There is a good selection of beers and local real ales. Added to the incredibly low prices, highly recommended.

I love this Wetherspoons. It’s huge, but still manages to be cosy. I also had a first date with someone that involved a pub crawl around Bradford, and so it brings back fond memories :) I try not to think about the time he cheated on me in an alleyway at the back of the Ark in Headingley though. Anyway, it’s a lovely pub. The building itself is bearutiful, and hatch five is right — the atmosphere is great, despite the lack of music. The fire makes it a step up from the usual Wetherspoons, and there are plenty of booths and sofas to cater for big groups so it’s ideal if you’re on a work night out. A pub that Wetherspoons can be proud of :)
