This place is a dive. Looks the part from the outside like an Asian McDs but no lights in the toilet… perhaps it was to conceal the grime. The food seemed greasy and third rate — maybe it was the surroundings. My family and I are fans of Rajas fastfood which is great value. But if you put yourself up as a restaurant and serve chicken and chips on a plate(these guys did!!) then you should take extra care with the customer seating area so customers can enjoy their food. :(

Yesterday, I had this craving all day for fish and chips even though I was busy doing chores. Late evening, I realised I only had ten minutes to grab a meal before I was expected at Bradford Playhouse. Filling up at Morrisons, I caught sight of Raja’s the old Mother Hubbards, a name that had an outstanding reputation serving fish and chips when I was growing up. Now it was an all rounder fast food restaurant. I told the counter guy I only wanted a light meal and I couldn’t wait. Despite the queue, I had my meal box in less than two minutes. They still served various sized fish and chips, which is rare in most take aways. Standard fish on its own was a bargain at £2.50 and when I opened the box I found they had included a small handful of chips, which was a pleasant surprise. Just the right dose for me. The batter was crispy and tasty and together with the rock salt shaker, I had a delightful meal. Yes, I would say this place has moved second to Harry Ramsden’s if they can repeat this all the time.
