The Castle Inn

Super friendly place. Great selection of local beers, and the food smells great. Had a nice experience with local hospitality. My wife and I walked up a large hill to get to the Castle Inn. We arrived sweaty and breathless. We talked to the bartender for a little about the beer and asked about the local brews. Very knowledgeable about the local breweries! After trying a few we settled on some great pints. We had forgotten our wallets at the cottage! No worries. The bartender was super nice. Eventually we scavenged enough coins to cover it, but I think we would have been good even if we didn’t have it covered. Much nicer than our hometown of Chicago! Come here when in Bradford-​on-​Avon!!!

This is by far my favorite place in the area to get a hearty English breakfast. The first thing I noticed about this place was the homey atmosphere. They have a really good vibe going for them, making it enjoyable to chat with your company.
I recommend getting the full English breakfast. I recall it being around £7, give or take. It included baked beans, toast, eggs, tomato, mushroom, bacon, and black pudding. The eggs florentine or benedict also looked absolutely delicious. An order of pancakes also tasted delicious. Don’t forget to get berries on top with that.
The verdict: stop by here for an awesome meal. The coffee here is awesome and the food is even better.

A pub that doesn’t take dogs. Get a grip!

This must be one of the best restaurants I have eaten in years. I used to go to the Fat Fowl when in Bradford, but it disappointed me twice so I was recommended this place. The food at the Castle is fab, I had to go there twice for the two nights I stayed in Bradford as I simply wanted more. My mussels were deliciously fresh and cooked to perfection in a yummy sauce you just wanted to eat more of, the chicken livers and bacon as a starter was superb, again another sauce to die for. All in all well worth a detour to Bradford on Avon. But please note that parking close to this place is well nigh impossible as it’s opposite a busy mini roundabout and they only have spaces for a few cars. Leave the car in the centre then and be prepared for a few minutes walk up hill to work up an appetite… enjoy!

Fantastic all rounder. It has a lovely large garden (with great views) for the summer and it catches the sun for most of the day. At the same time the interior of the pub is really well decorated — very cosy in the winter with the fires going. Finally, the food is amazing. Good old pub grub but also some more adventurous dishes. Would thoroughly recommend.

Fabulous pub with amazing boutique hotel style bedrooms with massive beds and luxury en-​suites! Great selection of real ales, tasty pub fodder & comfy interior. Seriously recommended.
