After a visit to the castle nursing a hangover needed hydration!
This is a lovely little tea room and in the summer it was wonderful views of the castle out in the garden (if you can get a seat).
Nice selection of teas and great Scones and cream too!
Reasonable prices and friendly service just what you need after exploring the castle or village.

Great little place. Scones to go with the cream teas were superb and so too was the tea. The only let down was the cream, to go with the scone and jam, which was runny — and was only pointed out to us after we had bought them. The exact wording was «we got a duff batch of cream». This was a bit of a disappointment especially as this cost £3.95 each (Oct 2013). Yes we could have sent it back but as stated the scones were excellent.

As you go in there’s a dresser laden with cakes from which you choose what to have with your tea (or coffee if you must). Or you can order a cream tea to get scones, jam & cream. There is a gluten free choice too. If the weather permits, then of course the gardens are fabulous, with pretty flower beds, parasols, and a great view of the castle. (You choose a table, then order inside, giving your table number, and it’s brought to you). We sat in the sun, watching the goats ‘mow’ the slopes of the castle, serenaded by blackbirds begging for crumbs. Tea and cakes for three was £8.70 — pretty good. And there are loos. Shuts at 5.30pm.

Qype has forced me to call this a café but it’s a tea room! They may sell coffee too, I didn’t ask and frankly I don’t care. Tea, cake, ploughman’s lunches, ginger beer all served overlooking the amazing Corfe Castle. You can sit in the rooms themselves or outside in the garden. A little bit of England that’s sadly a curiosity now but must be experienced so at least you people who do visit Starbucks know what you’re missing.
