On the river, food such as «The quadruple bypass burger» and apparently twinned with Chernobyl, this place is ace.

Went with a mate of mine, whilst visiting Bourne End. She said we have to go for a walk because she wants to take me to one of her favourite pubs. We ended up at The Bounty. From the outside, it looks tiny, but once you step inside, it opens up to quite a view. Décor definately matched the whole theme of the place, and it was worth every piece of sight. What’s more amazing, is being able to sit outside on chairs or at tables, order some food, and watch the boats pass by you. It was a serene experience for me, as it was my first time to not only visit Bourne End(and Cockmarsh, where the establishment borders /considers its home), but the first time to visit local dives. A couple rounds of drinks for me and my friend turned out to be rather cheap, considering I’m used to the American way of paying(and the expensive lager in US bars). Next time I return to the quaint village of Cockmarsh and Bourne End, I’m visiting The Bounty

Very nice place to sit and overlook the river while having a beer on a nice sunny summer day. The food is horrible though. Dog owners seem to love this place. At least it was full of dogs when I visited.

Stopped in here for lunch and to meet old friends. Cider in the sun by the river. Lovely. No frills, though, but then thats the idea. No need to come in the winter however. Bounty is a thamesside legend, old fashioned, rickety but theres no better spot on the thames on a sunny day.

This a real gem– a saloon bar atmosphere that welcomes hikers, families and pets, which is a contrast to a number of higher end places in the area. Food is basic pub grub at a good price and generous is size. I didnt try any but would make this my next lunch stop on the Thames path. Couldn’t think of a better view of the Thames to have with a beer.

Definitely a pub to visit in the summer on foot, by boat or by bike! This pub has been there for years and is very well known with the locals. I have visited many times on my bike while cycling along the Thames path — a great stop for a pint and a sandwich. The food is okay — it’s not fine dining but hits the spot and they always seem to have good cask ales on.

What a lovely pub for walkers, dog owners and boaters! After a long day tramping through the mud doing one of the Time Out’s country walks, we came across this pub, which even had a sign out welcoming muddy boots. We’d already been turned away from our prospective lunch spot due to our muddy boots, so I brightened considerably when we were welcomed into the pub with nary a funny look given to our shoes. Most of the people in the pub were wearing wellies and half had dogs in tow. They had two local cask ales on tap, plus on Sundays they serve roasts until 6pm. We ordered roasts and sat down to a well-deserved meal and a pint. The roasts were average, but plentiful. The beer good. The atmosphere perfect, casual and mellow. The service friendly. I don’t believe that you can drive here, you’ll have to park somewhere else and then walk along the Thames to get here. It’s a paved, even path, or you could come via the marsh in the back, or via boat. It’s right on the water and there’s outdoor seating next to the river.
