Walking down Shenley Road looking for something to eat, this place seemed to have a good variety for our party. It looks a bit like an old diner and it does not help that for the salad bar you have to squeeze at the side of the kitchen. But — hey — I just said «salad bar» which is one plus (and makes for probably the best value side-​order that you can pick). So, the lack of «ambiance» is made up by friendly service, a good variety of food and decent prices. The prices come with a caveat: I saw the roast salmon on the menu, which I always love, but I was a bit suspicious of the less than 7 pounds price. Sure enough, a plate with a very small, yet well cooked salmon came. I would advise that if you can’t give a generous portion for a low price, just increase the price of that particular plate. The spaghetti Bolognese had a great sauce — something I rarely say about restaurant Bolognese — however the spaghetti was «boiled to death».
Overall, it is an honest diner. You should not be disappointed and even find some very pleasant surprises like the boiled potatoes in sauce at the salad bar, the Bolognese sauce etc.

We have been going here in the last year or more and we went last week and they have changed the out front and looks alot better, green sign now, We always have the jj burger and quaterburger and chips, more better than mcdonalds and worth the money as you get lots of chips. The staff always seem friendly and happy. You don’t have to wait too long either on the food. Worth going in to sit down in a nice clean and quiet restaurant.
