Wilko

Do people still call it Wilkinson’s? That’s how I know it and I’m not sure what they were trying to accomplish with the name change to Wilko, but I still stop in for bits and bobs. I really liked it when I was a student studying in the UK for a semester because it was cheap and now I like it because sometimes I need something practical that I can’t seem to find anywhere else. I might also like a bit of pick ‘n’ mix :)
While shopping in the town centre, I was looking for a place that sold pet items since I had struck out at some of the other shops I had been to. As I was walking to the bus stop, I saw this Wilko and thought I would pop in and see if they have what I needed. This store has two floors… home goods, kitchen items, etc. are on the bottom floor while toiletries, cleaning supplies, and pet items are on the ground floor.
I forgot how inexpensive Wilko is and will have to go back for some Christmas lights! At the back of the store I found the pet section. While it is not a Pets At Home, it does the trick if you are in a pinch. They sell food, litter, cleaning supplies, and even toys… for dogs, cats, and other small animals. On my way to the till, I did not spot the pick ‘n’ mix display (probably for the best) and check out was very quick.
