The quest for a fish and chip shop in Bolton continued one night when we began to crave it again. I don’t actually know how Mr. Snarky found The Chip Shop, but he did and it turns out that it isn’t very far from us. We nearly missed the entrance to the car park/street, but finding the place itself is not very difficult as it grouped with some other businesses(Coral, a pizza place, and an Indian takeaway). That said, when it is busy, finding parking can be difficult and we may have parked up a bit further down, but had no clue whether it was legal or not. Oops. Anyway, it has the typical fish and chip shop menu as well as a children’s menu. There is no place to sit in the shop, so it is strictly takeaway. The staff are very friendly and they cook everything to order, so it is fresh, but it means you’ll have a short wait. I had the Haddock and Mr. Snarky had the cod. The batter is nice and light, but it wasn’t quite as crispy as I would have liked. That said, I am willing to accept that maybe being wrapped up for the transport home may have had something to do with it. The chips are delicious! They put the right amount of vinegar and salt on them, making them addicting! While I don’t think it surpasses Mr. Snarky’s favourite chippy in London, I think it will probably be our go-to neighborhood chippy!
