I know you may be thinking, why is he reviewing staples, but I was let down a little after a visit last week. When you think of Staples, you think everything stationary/office/school related that you could possibly need — however in reality this store really doesn’t offer you much choice. I went in for a number of items hoping to get an array of colours and styles but ended up leaving with all white. I may have been spoilt with my studies and early work life in being in the United States of the oversized and too plenty but for a big chain, compared to their American counterpart(office depot) I was very disappointed! A 2 star store, brought up to 3 by the lovely staff they had on my last visit!

Oh my I really do love Staples. Whenever I go in, I am immediately surrounded by loads of items I previously didn’t know I needed but suddenly have to have. This Staples confused me to start with because there was a girl on the door saying hi to customers as they walk in. I thought this only happened at like clothes shops to kind of enforce the brand? But then, actually I’ve heard they also do this because having personal and eye contact with people reduces the chances of shop lifting. Do I look like a shop lifter? Either way, it threw me slightly. I managed to hold tight(wanting to buy everything in the shop wise) and headed straight over to their amazing selection of envelopes and bought a couple of packs for a really reasonable price. Got to love Staples.

Sorry, we’re not impressed with this branch of Staples. The customer service is the worst thing; if you’ve got some photocopying to do make sure you’ve not got anything else booked for the rest of the day. Often the photocopying area is completely devoid of any staff; then when staff are there they take an age to acknowledge you exist and may need help; when they eventually do that the service is at best tortoise-like and at worst non-existent. Even given all this time they still can’t seem to guarantee they’ll get your copying right! On the positive side the prices aren’t too bad and the parking is good — it’s free and it’s often possible to park right outside the store. But is that really much help if the staff are going to ignore you once you get in there?

Very good shop for anything you need for home, office, work or school, college, university. They sell Paper, card, laptops, pc equipment, office chairs, shredders, pens, laminators, hole punchers etc. They often have sales on but the prices don’t go down very much and not everything is included.

At Staples you can get pretty much anything(stationary wise!) so it is an extremely handy place. They have everything from printer paper, pens, envelopes, stickers to price guns, tills, computer desks and chairs. I personally find Staples very expensive, especially if your not a business, or not a business registered for VAT, because the price you see on the tickets is exclusive of Vat, this gets added on at the till, which is a bit of a con in my eyes. The location of this store is excellent, just out of the town centre, close to the A666, it has lots of free parking as it on a retails park with other stores such as Comet and ToysRus.
