There was a time when Primark seemed an ok place to shop. The clothes were so cheap that they were almost paying you to buy them, and generally it just seemed like a good place to get some clobber to fill up your wardrobe on the cheap. But then all the stories about where and how the clothes were made started coming out. I mean, obviously the clothes had to be cheap for some reason. And then whenever you went in Primark after that everything seemed tainted, and then you realised that actually all the clothes were pretty rubbish, and then you swore you’d never go again. Primark represents everything that is bad about going shopping in Bolton on a Saturday.

If you’re already familiar with Primark, you probably know everything there is about the chain and their busy Bolton branch from the cheap racks of womens, mens and kidswear to the even cheaper shoes and accessories. If you don’t know Primark, the two links below paint a pretty interesting picture!

The Primark store in Bolton before was really poor thankfully it has since been expanded and besides being much bigger is now much better with a better layout and has now a lot more needed tills with a sensible queuing number system. You still get huge queues but luckily they are processed much quicker than how it used to be in the past. There is a huge range of cheap affordable clothing for everyone, women, men, children and babies. There is a reasonable sized section of shoes and accessories. This primark store although a lot bigger than it was still doesn’t compete with the likes of blackpool primark chains but still it is a much bigger improvement than before its expansion.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the previous review on this. The Bolton branch of Primark(as it stands it’s undergoing expansion) is cramped and messy. It resembles a jumble sale rather then a high street store. The level of stock is very limited as are the available sizes. They try to stock a little bit of everything but it still seems ‘lacking’. It’s a hard slog to actually find what you want/need and the staff are never approachable. It’s near impossible to navigate round due to so many displays and fittings clustered together resulting in clothes underfoot. It’s not a very pleasant shopping experience unlike the Manchester and Southport stores which are more dynamic, innovative have better quality of stock and have a much more pleasant layout. Hopefully things will improve once the makeover is complete.

The Primark in Bolton looks more like a Jumble Sale than a store. The manchester primark is a joy to behold, 3 floors all choc full of decent clothes, bedding, etc. the bolton one, in statk contrast, has currently a very limited range of clothes and its hard to find anything decent in there. Currently it is undergoing a major makeover and a huge extension so hopefully afterwards it will be a great deal better.
