The southdowns

Small car park gives way to very large venue. The only thing bigger is the size of the menu. Friendly staff and a reasonable drinks menu. Food was of a high quality and arrived quite quickly. Pool table and Sky Sports on several TVs.

Absolutely the worst place in Bognor I’ve ever eaten in! my burger was burnt and when I asked for another it had just been flipped over which was absolutely appalling. My girlfriends chicken tikka wasn’t cooked properly nor the rice and came with a piece of burnt garlic bread. I would give this no stars and think the food is food poisoning on a plate absolutely discusted

It seems that the new management have not done themselves any favours. Southdowns used to be a wonderful family pub with extremely great food. Now that it has come under new management I was very unimpressed with the service, food and staff’s manner. Used to go there quite often but dont think I’ll bother now!

Doing two mains and two drinks for a tenner, at the momentBUT it does depend on whose cooking when you choose to eat. Can be good or can be rough. Thursday night doesn’t seem to be too risky! 01/​12/​2012
We went in for a spot of lunch this afternoon. Very pleasantly surprised. Excellent range/​choice of food. Ridiculously low prices, but excellent quality food and service. Cheesy Garlic Bread starters, half roast chicken with delicious chips, onions, toms and two impressive size Pepsis£14.80!!! Can’t moan at that.
Spotlessly clean, top class toilets (maintained scrupulously), plenty of parking, smiles and laughter.

Have been back a couple of times since last reviewand it’s just got better and better. Charming staff, the food was hot, tasty and we didn’t wait too long for it. New management who have our confidence and thanks,

This pub has just had a major overhaul and reopened. It is decorated very nicely with lots of new seating, it has a beer garden and a rooftop terrace. They serve food all day through to the evening and its great value for money with two meals for £7 and the food is lovely. They have a weekly pub quiz as well as special nights e, g, curry night and children are welcome up until 6pm.
