Whilst studying at the Custard Factory, I have a become a big fan of Yumm. It’s a very chilled out, bright café serving a selection on hot and cold sandwiches, flatbreads, paninis, bagels and cakes. The menu varies from day to day and everything is fresh. My favourites so far have been the very generous fish finger sandwich and the extra tasty falafel mez flatbread. The red velvet cake is also delightfully sinful, I can never resist even if I have just popped in for a cup of good coffee! Everything here is reasonably priced and the staff are always a pleasure to talk to. I would definitely recommend it. It is what it is and it does it well!

This is a lovely little café located in the beautiful Custard Factory complex. I think you can tell a lot about a place from how busy it is… this place is always packed! The coffee’s here are priced at what you would expect to pay for a decent cup in the city centre(around £2.40) and you can tell the products they are using are of a good quality. I was happy to be asked if I wanted skimmed or soya milk upon ordering, this was a nice touch from the very pleasant barista I met during my visit. Sadly, I was behaving so didn’t take advantage of the MANY cakes and good looking pastries that Yumm has on offer. A quick scan over the hot food menu also left me instantly planning my next visit!

Went for coffee and cake… Cake was so big had to share. Very generous portion sizes. Warm and friendly staff with personality! Such a nice change from chain coffee shops. At least Yumm got our names right when shouting out our coffees were ready. I’d be happy to go again as the price of the food was fair and portion sizes are huge. Really good spot and lots of seating. Think this is our new halfway stop now. No hassle as lots of parking around the area. Again, lovely staff!

Yumm is one of the eateries that nestle in the Custard Factory and is a great place. I’ve visited several times, more frequently now that I work nearby, and I’ve always found it to be a really welcoming, relaxing place to grab a bite for breakfast or lunch. Yumm serves a nice range of hot and cold food throughout the day. In the mornings you can pick up various things for breakfast, from the trusty full english to sausage sandwiches, eggs on toast and more. At lunch time you can feast on such delicacies as freshly prepared baguettes and paninis, filled jacket potatoes, hot pork baps, chili con carne and more. The menus seem to change on a regular basis so there is often something new to try. One of my personal faves is the yummy halloumi mez pitta. Drinks wise Yumm do nice coffees, my usual caffeine fix, as well as various teas, fruit juices and smoothies.

BreakfastReview: This is quite a cool place within the Custard Factory complex in super cool Digbeth. Breakfast here are generally good, however, I have had good far more often that I have had bad breakfasts here. They are not going to win awards for their farm fresh sausages and bacon, but they are still pretty decent. 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 1 egg, beans,(not separate — aargh!) and mushrooms. Toast is standard supermarket sliced, but does the job. If memory serves me correctly, the full english is only about £5 or £6.00, so its good value for money and a decent breakfast. I would have given this place 4 start, but when they got it wrong, it was terrible. Look at the photo I uploaded of the eggs Benedict(hard poached egg and hollandaise from a jar — not good.
