For a food outlet the outside area is full of litter on site and the inside toilets are dissgusting are this compant serious on standards for customers

Wing Yip is absolutely fantastic. Practically everything you want for Asian cooking is here under one roof. And plenty of things you didn’t even know existed!
The selection of ingredients is fantastic — what’s that? You want some dried mushrooms? How about a whole aisle of dried fungi in all it’s various forms. Prawns? Of course, an entire freezer aisle and a half full of them from teeny tiny shrimp all the way up to giant king prawns that aren’t far off the size of lobster.
It can be somewhat overwhelming, I’ll admit that, but the staff are incredibly friendly and will assist you in any way possible. Right down to unloading your trolley and packing your goods. No, no, no sir… you’re not in Tesco any more.
Wing Yip is your one stop shop for middle eastern cooking supplies, if you’re feeling a bit bored in the kitchen then head down here buy something you wouldn’t normally try and give it a whirl!

I went to the shops, and I bought:
1) Two cakes made by the yummy Arcadian shop ‘Caffe Chino’
2) some delicate gold embossed decorative paper sheets
3) a can of iced coffee
4) a strange energy drink which didn’t describe the flavour but tasted like Lilt
5) Some fake chicken satay skewers
6) Some frozen mock duck
7) some pigs uteruses
…pigs uteruses?! Okay, so I didn’t actually buy the last one — just snapped a photo in amazement. I love that this place carries awesome fake meats for vegetarians (which taste delicious!) as well as a broad range of tofu products… and then alongside you get crazy weird offal like pig uterus. Yum! This place LITERALLY caters for everyone, and has a much more relaxed atmosphere than the supermarkets in the Arcadian (where everyone bustles about and I always feel like people are examining what I’m doing…) with wide aisles and helpful staff. Yay!

I simply love this supermarket. I visit at least once a week to stock up on everything from fresh noodles, soy sauces, chilli oil (currently an obsession) and I recently bought a flat bottom wok for just £6.00. If you like to cook chinese food then forget these packet mixes on offer at main supermarket chains and visit an authentic chinese supermarket for the best ingredients. The staff here is brilliant, customer service is exceptional and the prices will blow you away. It’s worth a visit just for the architecture, authentic chinese design buildings make you feel like you’re actually there. There’s free parking and plenty of places to stop for lunch too.

I’ve love this place. Not only is it cheap to buy your standard soy and sweet chilli sauces but it also means you can buy great pastes to get you started in some great Chinese cooking.
This place is a monster of a Chinese supermarket where you can buy both as wholesale and by the case load whether you are trade or the general public. What’s even better is the prices of items on the general shelves rather than the wholesale warehouse attached tell you the case load price on there as well as the single item, should you happen to need a box full of mock duck.
It’s the most fun you’ll have shopping as you discover pigs uterus in the freezer and bean paste fizzy pop on the shelves. That barely scratches the surface of the amazing food items and flavours you’ll find on the shelves.
If you need fish then the prices are crazy cheap but it’s also great for providing mock versions of meaty goods for your veggie friends too.

This is basically a Chinese version of Iceland. but with quaility frozen seafood. I brought a bag of king prawn which were the size of my fist! I mean they are huge!
If your after lobster, prawns, king prawns, chinese fish or seafood you can’t find in the supermarket then this place is a must…

This is the largest Chinese/​oriental supermarket (more like hypermarket) in the West Midlands. It’s basically a cash and carry for the Chinese trade but has a good selection of Japanese goods and other goods from places like Thailand.
A big selection of frozen foods and has I’ve noticed over recent years, increased it’s offering of ready made meals. If you like dim sum and have a steamer (or if not you can pick up a bamboo one cheaply there) there are many different brands to chose from at a fraction of the price you’d pay in restaurants.
It’s great value to buy in bulk if you have room and a definite place to shop if you are having a party/​bbq. I get the big bags of rice which are found in the back of the supermarket bit, in the cash and carry part.
Great way to spend a hour or so, mooching around looking at unusual stuff!
It’s on a site where there’s also a restaurant, a Chinese travel agent, etc. to cater for the Chinese community. Be warned it’s very busy on Sunday afternoons, traditionally day of the week Chinese families do big shop/​have lunch at the restaurant, next to the supermarket
