We thought we’d try a new restaurant. This one is quite new! We were greeted at the door and shown a choice of two tables. There were two staff working on the floor. We were asked immediately if we wanted a drink but weren’t shown the wine list until after we had ordered a short. We were then presented with the menus, which actually all turned out to be wine lists by mistake so we had to ask the staff for an actual menu. I expressed that I was lactose intolerant and the server was more than happy to talk me through the menu of what I could and couldn’t have. I ordered the salmon to start, this was altered slightly due to my dietary requirements and then the beef main. Cooked slightly differently for me. My partner ordered the ham starter and the lamb main. The courses were very nice, the salmon starter was very refined and tasty. The beef literally fell apart as soon as you touched it. Succulent and tasty! When it came to choosing a desert I was left a little disappointed. There was nothing on the menu that I could choose from being lactose intolerant. The only option I could have was a mixture of blackcurrant and champagne sorbets. I was in fact only served champagne sorbet as they had run out of the blackcurrant. My partners desert however looked fantastic, a selection of selection of mini deserts, ranging from chocolate, sorbet, smoothie and a crème brûlée. Overall the venue was very nice, looked new and well laid out. The serving staff were very helpful and the food was hot and very quick to be served. The meal cost us £85 which was for two starters, two mains, two puddings, one glass of wine, two shorts and a bottle of still water. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends. Why not give it a go!
