TK Maxx

Tk maxx can be a bit hit or miss and the stores do seem to vary across the country. Nevertheless I like the fact that you never know what you might find! You have to be in the right frame of mind though. The clothes and sizes aren’t necessarily grouped very well so you might have to take your time searching to find the right thing. Today I saw some lovely Vivienne Westwood bags, but they were still way too much money. The shoes are a good bet though –often they have brands like irregular choice, blowfish or rocket dog. It’s not as cheap as primark, but sometimes they have real gems.
They have all sorts of others things too though, like suitcases, ornaments, toiletries, children’s wear and games, so you can find presents sometimes as well:)

Located just outside the Bullring, next to what will be the new shopping area (when completed in 2015), this TKMaxx is spread over two floors. You can access it from street level or from the gangway from the Bullring. The women’s selection is on the ground level while men’s, kid’s and home ware is on the section level.
While the women have a whole floor to themselves, there does seem to be a smaller selection of clothes than some stores I have been to. On a recent visit, there were far few dresses to choose from considering its summer. Also, the selection of shoes available for someone who has size 8 feet was dire. There was only two rows of shelves while all other sizes had at least 6 to 8 shelves to pick from. However, clothing is not the main reason I go to this paticular TKMaxx, its for the home ware section.
Home goods takes up a large section of the second floor and is always stocked and reasonable priced. I’ve found many a good present here for myself and for others. Check out the clearance section as you can always find something you never knew you even wanted!
It does get really busy at the weekends so if you can, pop down during the week when the queues are smaller and you can actually spend time browsing

TK Maxx is an amazing Aladdins Cave of clothes — you never know what you’ll find.
There’s usually only one or two of each garment, but there are so many things that you’re bound to find something you want!
Don’t go in with the attitude of I need a green skirt made of cord that’s knee-​length, think more I need something to go with that cool blue top I bought last week, and you’ll find a million things (well, maybe not that many!) that fit the bill.
Most of the items are name-​brand stuff at a pretty good discount.
Known as TJ Maxx in the states, it’s like a charity shop without the old person smell — cos everything’s new :)
