Mondays is the best for food as it Offers 50% discount on all food, due to the fact it is a half price night it is a busy place but you still are served very quickly, and Fridays 2 for 1 cocktails. The portion size is a standard one, good service and attentive staff.

Nice place in Brindley area. We have been there for lunch. Burgers and chicken souvlakis were delicious for decent prices. The only issue is the noise as this place is often crowded specially in the bar zone.

The only day i have ever been is Monday, due to the 50% off offer, although I have been plenty of times(on a monday) it is highly unlikely I would go on another day of the week as the food quality is just not good enough. The nachos are good and my favourite is the open chicken pie. Staff are normally good. It can be quite busy on a monday so if a large group was to go I would suggest going early.

I was torn on whether to give the Slug and Lettuce 3 or 4 stars. I have dined here regularly and I’m always incredibly happy with my meal. However, the only time I chose to dine here is on a Monday evening when every food item on the menu is half price. It is terrific value but I would never chose to eat here on a normal day as I don’t think that’s good value for money. Located in Brindley Place, it is fantastically situated and smartly decorated. There is always a good atmosphere in here and it is never empty, always a bonus! There’s a large selection of drinks and the staff are friendly. The last time I visited, I had one of their burgers which was standard yet tasty. I ended up deciding on 4 stars because the staff are great and I’ve never had a bad experience here so giving three, I think, would be unfair, I’ll always come back here but only on a Monday!

This place is so nice! I went there since I was craving something sweet. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s a great place for family and friends to visit. Not so nice if you want to go alone. The service is so fast and the staff are super friendly! Their desserts are so delicious! I rated it with four stars cuz I didn’t like the seats inside the restaurant as they are much lower than the tables.

This place is amazing. Great HH that last for 6 hours. Service was superior and the atmosphere was spectacular. They made almost every drink I have ever heard about and they were quite tasty. Went back twice in one day.

This place is a bit like Jekyll and Hide. Looks charming during the day, is horrible in the night. Well, that’s my opinion! But if you like music getting louder and louder and a very bland atmosphere, this place is for you! It has one very good feature though: cocktails are 241 till 10pm!

The Slug & Lettuce is located in a great spot, just off the canal side, in Brindley Place. I found out about the 50% off all food/drink offer on Mondays and quickly decided that it was just too good to pass up! A friend and I made our way down to the restaurant around 7pm and were quickly seated and presented the drinks/food menus. I went for the chicken caesar salad with a side of buttery asparagus… trying to be healthy… I thought there was a lack of dressing on the salad, but overall it was a satisfying plate of food. Everything came out of the kitchen quickly and all of the staff that we chatted with were friendly and helpful. The bill for both of us to eat came out at just £12…how can you complain at that! I don’t think I would rush back for the full price menu, but on a Monday is an absolute bargain.

Do you know what? I have always avoided this popular chain pub in Brindley Place and I probably shouldn’t have. Allow me to elaborate… So, if you have checked out my previous reviews, you will see that I attended a #SantaCause event for RSVP West Midlands last week. The first stop was Brasshouse( ), Second was The Slug and I decided to call it a night at Reflex( ) for reasons that will become apparent on reading the review. Now, Brindley Place is not somewhere I tend to visit often. It’s really lovely in the daytime with the fountains, the Ikon and people bustling about; it just tends to turn into a bit of a playground for Corporate types in the evening. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it’s just not my scene in all honesty. When I actually stepped foot in this smartly kept pub, I was pleasantly surprised. It seemed neat, clean and the music wasn’t of a level where it was hard to have a conversation. This was a Thursday night and the place wasn’t so rammed that you had to stand, so all good. I didn’t actually approach the bar(as we were on a pre-arranged event and had drinks ready when we arrived), but the drinks menu looked to be quite inclusive of all of the usual things you would expect(without huge price tags either). The pre-poured drinks we received were some kind of cocktail that again… was pretty good. Unfortunately I couldn’t order this again(as I didn’t know what it was), but it seemed like a variant on a Long Island Iced Tea. Not too sweet, just the right mix of flavours… I wouldn’t necessarily take the girls down here for a night of cocktails, but should I ever find myself around this neck of the woods I wouldn’t complain too profusely about popping in for one. The venue had also provided some buffet style desserts for the event. The macaroons and mini choux buns were also quite nice. Again, not michelin dining; but it IS a bar that does food so that’s to be expected. The food menu seemed to offer a number of different dishes that all looked pretty standard, but the prices were reasonable and there seems to be a number of different offers on throughout the week. In summary, I would revist this menu. It’s not on my «Must go back» list, but if I was given a list of bars in Brindley to choose from, then it would be near the top. I would always advocate visiting one of Birmingham’s great independent venues where possible, but if you just want a decently priced bite to eat or a swift drink; pop in and give the Slug and Lettuce a go!

241 cocktails 4pm-10pm, Thurs-Sat ^_^ Woohoo! Everyone loves a cocktail but apart from that and the cheap food the Slug and Lettuce is just OK really. I mean, it’s decorated nicely and it’s always fairly busy, the menu is varied and the food is good and pretty cheap too(mains start at just £5.95 and there is a lot to choose from) but it’s just a modern, city pub really; no quirks or character. It could even pass as a really posh Wetherspoon’s(ever been to London Docklands’ Ledger Building?). The pub also offer 241 curries every Tuesday and kids eat for £1 on Sundays so it’s not all bad. I’d just rather be at All Bar One if I’m going for ‘swanky’ or a proper character pub, which there are plenty of in Brum.

Having been here for a curry on their special Thursday curry night, I would give this the thumbs up. Located in the heart of Birmingham’s Brindley Place, you’ll love all there is about The Slug and Lettuce. Great cocktails, a nice variety of food, and the service is very attentive. Although we couldn’t get seats straight away, we didn’t mind waiting at the bar and shared a bottle of Rose. We were given a seating in a booth, which makes it more intimate, and you feel you have a little more privacy. Popular with workaholics after 5pm, and I’ve always found this to be very popular Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, but worth a visit if you’ve not been before. Nice décor, great special offers and promotions, and also ideal if your planning a family or friend party of any sort. if you can, try to pre-book. Outside seating is also available. I attend here regularly, and enjoy coming here.(Although they forgot my nann bread, I was given 2 when I reminded them. Service is excellent, maybe that’s why it’s so popular?)

I’ve always wondered what would happen if some innocent salad-muncher discovered a slug on their plate in Brindley Place’s popular bar and eatery; I mean, with a name like that, it wouldn’t exactly be false advertising, would it? Thankfully though, no slimy sorts have been discovered in the food I’ve eaten there and its dependable menu and satisfactory service mean I visit it at least a few times a year. The Slug and Lettuce is the perfect spot to snack after a hard day’s shopping on the high street or to enjoy a nice tall glass of Peroni before catching your favourite act at Symphony Hall or NIA. It quite often gets packed out in there, so you might not always grab a table(Saturday afternoons are especially busy) but when you’re lucky enough to sit down, the food is served pretty quickly and is definitely worth the more-than-reasonable price you’ll be paying. If you’re planning a big night out on the town, this place’s relatively relaxed atmosphere probably won’t suffice a visit(unless it’s your starting point) but it’s a fine addition to Brindley Place’s expanding catalogue of drink ‘n’ dine establishments.

The Slug & Lettuce is a nice little bar which, when compared to most of the others in the area, offers great value on a good selection of drinks. It gets a decent-sized crowd and yet manages to avoid being oppressively loud. There is a commendable variety of decent quality food that won’t break the bank. The staff are friendly and the whole place has a very relaxed, open feel to it. Great for anyone looking for somewhere not hugely overpriced that you can enjoy a conversation without shouting across the table. Recommended.

We went to the slug and lettuce before a show at the NIA. I thought this pub/restaurant was great. I’d never been to a slug and lettuce before and was pleasently surprised at how stylish and friendly it was there. I thought the service was great and even though it got very busy whilst we were there we never got forgotten. If that wasn’t good enough then the food was even better! I didn’t expect such quality for the really good price! Even if we weren’t eating there it was a great place if you just wanted to go somewhere for a drink.

Ahhh i love slug and lettuce so much! The atmosphere, friendly staff, great food and drink all contribute to what is always a super night out! Also, until the end of November 2008 every Monday you get 50% off your food bill which makes this place even better! Lovely ambiance at this branch of slug and lettuce I hope they bring the ‘happy mondays’ offer back in the new year because i love their mushroom and pea risotto especially at half price: D

A top bar! They offer a wide variety of drinks and do cocktails. Been here on many a Friday night and the drinks are no cheaper or more expensive than anywhere else really, but the actual place will have you coming back for more. It is so lovely and comfy in here you will have trouble leaving! Varied seating, cool lighting and nice staff will keep you coming back to the bar again and again! They also do a great food menu but having never tried any food from here, I can’t possibly comment. It does tend to get rammed on weekends so if you want a seat, then go before about 9pm.
