This Greengrocer has been a fixture of Weoley Castle Square for as long as I can remember. It’s a traditional Greengrocer with a variety of fruit and veg indoors, plus cut flowers and plants out the front of shop. The staff are very friendly and the prices of the produce very good — certainly cheaper than any nearby Supermarket. Unlike a Supermarket, you can expect the odd bit of dirt on your potatoes, and perhaps a slightly bend to your Carrots here, but you can’t beat the price and I for one enjoy shopping at a local business.

This is a really good fruit and veg stall and although I have only been in a couple of times, I have been really impressed by the produce that they have to offer. All of their produce is fresh and it is also ridiculously cheap! I always prefer to come to a green grocers than a supermarket as the produce always seems to much better and of course it is much cheaper. The staff who work there are really friendly and I have found them really helpful when I have been looking for something and could not find it. It is fairly organised inside, but they have a lot of stuff so you have to keep your eyes peeled to find what you want. Overall, I think that this is such a great store and it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

This greengrocers has been around on the Castle Square for years and that is testament alone to it’s quality. It’s a bit of a rough and ready grocers but it’s dirt cheap compared to supermarkets and most other greengrocers nearby. Personally I do all of my veg shopping at the outdoor market in Brum centre now but this was my local grocers even when I moved out of Weoley Castle over to Bournville. Definitely recommended if you live nearby!

Really decent fruit and veg shop this based on Weoley Castle Square which offers a good range of seasonal produce. The main thing to focus on though is the price — maybe its after a lifetime of shopping at Waitrose and Marks or relying on my allotment for food(although with the latter this largely consisted of courgettes — I can’t look at a marrow these days without feeling a bit sick), but boy are they cheap and unlike some of the stuff in Waitrose which is a bit sparkly and perfect looking a lot of this stuff comes covered in dirt and grit which I rather like. As well as really reasonably priced veg and fruit they stock a nice range of pickles and sauces and bags of nuts and Bombay mix. Outside you’ll find cut flowers. Staff are friendly and the shop itself seems a popular haunt for the good people of Weoley Castle.
