I quite like it here, large spacious pub with a nice outdoor area, the outdoor area goes around the the side of the pub so the smokers can be far enough away from the children. Speaking of children there is a great kids area inside too, but if you’re not a fan of kids area’s there is plenty of space to sit away from them. Great selection of drinks, with a good menu choice OR carvery there’s something for everybody. I have never had a bad meal here. Very well priced and large meals for what you pay.

A large pub of the Wetherspoons type variety, suitable for all 30 of us to have a sit down Christmas dinner! Two courses for £9.99. The carvery was delicious! I didn’t have dessert, but I was told the lemon meringue pie was very good too! Staff were really nice and friendly. I couldn’t believe a large glass of red wine was only £2.75!

Billesley is an area with an interesting reputation to say the least; as such the old Billesley pub had something of a poor reputation also. However since its reincarnation as a new public house it appears that things have taken a turn for the better. This place is vast and now has décor to match the grandeur of the building. As well as that there are always offers to be had on the pub grub and the drinks prices are pretty cheap to boot. All in all it appears that the Billesley is no longer a place which should be avoided but rather a place to visit with friends, sit back and enjoy.

This large pub use to be an old Coach house and also an hotel. With this, as you can imagine there is a lot of space to be utilised. A while back they use to have an indoor kids play area which has since been ripped out and replaced with more dining tables. Décor and atmosphere wise I wasn’t overly impressed. It was a bit dingey and not really somewhere I would go with my friends who live out of town. On the plus side, the food was cheap and didn’t taste to bad. If you’re just looking for a 241 deal and you’re passing by this pub will do nicely. Otherwise, you might be better going a bit closer into town.

The New Billesley is surely the largest pub in the world. If you enter and appreciate the vastness of the space, don’t forget there’s another floor above your head. Two for one meal deals are always popular and the fish and chips is reliably good, served with mushy peas and tartare sauce of course. Tuesdays sees host to the local Truth juice night, an evening where you might be privy to some top secret conspiracy and have the limits of your belief tested to breaking point by the tales of visiting speakers. I like the New Billesley, the staff are friendly, the food is decent and there’s plenty of space on offer. Well worth a visit just to oogle at the size of the place.
