This is the only Wetherspoons hotel I have stayed in, and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. I was here for a few days in the course of work as I need something central to Birmingham that didn’t break the bank, and this place did not disappoint. The rooms are small, yes but the bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean with an excellent shower and it was quiet, I was worried it would be noisy being in the city centre but it was fine. Usual Wetherspoon food drinks and breakfast fare in the bar downstairs is good value too. I have stayed in other hotels that cost twice as much and aren’t half as good so I’ll be back next time I am in Brum and look forward to trying other Wetherspoon hotels on my travels!

I have never stayed here, but if I ever need to stay in brum would certainly do do. I use it as a pub as its central and very attractive(toilets are a long way away downstairs though) once inside. Usual wetherspoons food and drink although its probably 20p per pint more than other that I use, I don’t know if thats cos its a hotel? Anyway — worth a pint or two if you are in the area. Would love to hear from someone who has stayed here.

A ‘Wetherlodge’ above the Wetherspoons pub is a no frills hotel. This place is right in the centre of the city — just off a main shopping street, New Street. It’s a short stroll to New Street station, the Bullring, Town Hall, ICC etc so the location literally could not be better. The lift was out of order on this visit which was a bit of a pain when lugging suitcases up four big flights of stairs. The rooms are spacious with proper sized double bed and nice powerful shower over the bath. The reception on my television was awful but the one in my colleague’s room didn’t even work and the hotel failed to fill up the soap dispenser in his room even though he asked for 2 days. Clean, practical — just don’t expect too much!
