Birmingham has seen a boom in fun arts events in recent years. Six Summer Saturdays is part of this boom, with its programme of free Saturday entertainment spanning across 6 Saturdays from 7 July.
The season has been organised by The Hippodrome and promises all sorts of wacky and creative fun-​times, including tea parties in Chamberlain Square, life-​sized puppet processions and real-​life silent movies unfolding across the city centre.
Like all the best festivals, the joy with Six Summer Saturdays is that you can accidentally stumble upon a performance (or inadvertently become part of one!).
Performances will be taking place all over the city centre every Saturday until 26 August — which is a Sunday, but lets not get picky here.
Look online to see the full programme or pay a visit to the festival «hub» situated by main entrance to The Mailbox. Alternatively, go for a wonder and let the art find you!
