This is where I always used to get my daughters’ school shoes from when we lived over in Kingstanding. This branch of Shoefayre is pretty small, but they still manage to have a very good selection of both adults and childrens shoes. The shoes are well displayed so you can see almost at a glance which ones you want to try on and they are usually displayed in size order, meaning no having to rummage through a dozen pairs of shoes to get to a size 4! The stock levels aren’t always brilliant and sometimes my daughter would have to choose a different pair of shoes if her size wasn’t in stock, you cannot blame Shoefayre for this too much though as it’s a small shop so they simply don’t have the room to keep thousands of shoe boxes in the stockroom. There are often discounted shoes in here, particularly in the kids section and prices are nicely reduced by up to £5 meaning I could pick up school shoes cheaper than anywhere else in the area. The styles are trendy, while the toddler and small childrens shoes tend to be pretty and traditional rather than any big style statement. Behind the counter you have a range of nice purses, tights, socks etc and all of these are at reasonable prices and usually well made. Again look out for the reduced stock as it’s hiding amongst everything else, just last week I picked up a lovely purse decorated with pictures of cats for just £2 which had been reduced with 75% off. Outside there are always a load of handbags to choose from, not really my kinda bag to be honest but they are good sellers and really cheap. I have bought my daughters’ school bags from here before and they last as long as the price would suggest(ie. not that long!) but for a quick get-by it’s great. The staff are really helpful and always prepared to chat while you’re chosing your shoes and paying. It’s no trouble for them to go and get shoes for you to try on, even if you’re indecisive like me and end up sending them backwards and forwards for different styles!
