Forget Boots or Superdrug… If you’re looking for bathroom products — head to Savers! We first started going to Savers when we frequented the market. It’s location(Edgbaston Street) lends itself to a trip down if you(like me) are a fan of the outdoor and indoor Bullring markets. It’s just on the back of the Bullring, a bit further round from Spiceal Street. We first popped in to get Shampoo. There are most of the named brands(including Aussie, Treseme and Loreal) available, but for a good £1 — £2 cheaper than most other well known places. From there, we started getting our hair-dye. I now pay(max) £3 for hair-dye(having previously forked out £5+). It’s now our go-to place for vitamins, painkillers, hair-dye, dental products, deodorant and selected cleaning things too! Over Summer it has a great selection of travel products too(including different brands of suncream for a good amount cheaper than the high street) and you can stock up before you go away without breaking the bank. As a warning, the make up range is a bit pants… but the fragrance selection is fairly well stocked and with big savings to be had on brands such as FCUK, Paul Smith, Elizabeth Arden and Calvin Klein(to name a few). Their selection of beauty products(fake nails, tweezers etc) is also pretty good and changes regularly, so it’s worth a semi-regular hunt if you’re looking for something in particular. I was disappointed to see they stopped stocking the St Ive’s Apricot Scrub last year, but the nature of the items stocked in Savers is sometimes that they do disappear from stock. If you sew something you use and is a bargain, stock up! I honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else if I didn’t have to(I can be fussy with some products). Go and have a gander!

Before you go to Boots to buy your smellies and whatnots, it’s worth giving Savers a try. The store is between the Bullring and opposite the Rag and outdoor market. As well as stocking all the branded products(and much cheaper than most other pharmacies) you can also find those huge unbranded deodorants and bottles of shampoo, that will probably last all year, for a very low price. The place is very clean and tidy, not cluttered and is well organized. So if you’re trying to save money and reduce expenses you might want to consider trying the aptly named Savers. Wow, that sounded like a slogan, sorry.
