Restaurant situated on St Mary’s row. I went for the first time on Saturday and it was absolutely packed. Booking at the weekend is clearly a must! The poor waiters were so busy they were rushing off before we’d even had time to finish our drink requests. When they arrived they were all wrong but this was quickly sorted out. the staff in general were very good. Food wise I would say it was a fairly posh curry house. I ordered a chicken bhuna, which is one of my regular choices, to find it tasted quite different to anything I’d had before. Also, the naan breads were very thin and crispy not light and fluffy. Non of this is bad, it’s just not what I was expecting. It made a nice change. Everyone else in the party seems happy with their choices too. I would go back again, but if you want a quiet/romantic meal, don’t go on a Friday or Saturday night!

One of my favourite restaurants in Moseley. Nice atmosphere and really good food. I have eaten here lots of times and never had a bad meal. The curries are not too greasy and the food tastes and looks fresh. The whole place seems very clean which is important to me. I don’t think they are going for the drunk after pub crowd, its more for people that are out for a meal, rather than ending up there. good service too.

Upon entering, we were greeted by a waitress who was dressed smartly and took us to our table. As soon as we were seated, we were offered both a jug of water and our choice of an alcoholic beverage. When we were ready to order we decided to try the Piquant Shahi Tukrah which consisted of chicken stuffed with minced meat and prawns. It came served with pilau rice and two Piquants and the delicious special chefs house sauce. I would like to say I sampled one of the many delicious looking deserts but unfortunately I was too full. The waitress was always on hand to top up our drinks for us and ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy a pleasant evening.

This was one of the first restaurants I went when I moved to Moseley and, fortunately, I left the place with a very good impression. I’ve eaten there twice since and the food is always delicious. The Piquant offers many options for vegetarians — I think they have over 10 dishes. I ate the paneer tikka masala twice(recommend) and aloo palak. The dishes are always well seasoned and the portions are very generous. The menu is very descriptive so, if you do not know much about Indian food, you will not get lost with the names. They even offer free delivery for those who live less than three miles(the minimum price the has to be £10) and 10 percent discount if you go there and collect your order.

I really like this restaurant. I have been once with my family and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I thought I’d go for a return visit seeing as it had been a long time and I can’t think why I hadn’t returned sooner. I ordered a takeaway for collection on the phone and the woman was hardly listening to me, even herself admitting she was ‘distracted’ after I had to repeat my order because she had got it wrong. I was kind of worried I’d turn up and my food would be all wrong. The interior is lovely and a great setting for an intimate meal. It’s decorated really tastefully and if you were to judge a book by its cover you might expect the prices to be more expensive. My food was great(and correct!) and for only £10 I got a lamb palak, a naan and a side of bombay aloo. I would definitely return.
