Pak Supermarket and I have had a special relationship over the years. It’s where I prefer to visit for most of my shopping. Unlike Tesco, Sainbury’s, Asda or any of the other large supermarkets I venture into, Pak stocks all of the ingredients I like to use in my cooking. It’s an Asian supermarket and I love Asian and Caribbean food, I love all ethnic food and Pak Supermarket stock the lot. If you’ve ever paid over £2.00 for a small container of spices in a large supermarket then I suggest you pay Pak a visit. On this visit I was after some mixed spice and some whole pepper corns for my grinder, large supermarket price for a 46g pot of mixed spice = £2.70, Pak Supermarket price = 0.99pence for 400g. Pepper corns, large supermarket price = £3.10 for 100g, Pak Supermarket price = £1.50 for 200g. No excuses for not getting your five a day here with fresh fruit and veg which is unbelievably cheap. Pak also has a butcher offering Halal meats and fish, all much, much cheaper than the large supermarket.
