Magic Corn

«Don’t make the Green Giant angry. You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry».
These were the words going through my head as I imagined offending the supermarket corn colossus by visiting this store in the Pallasades Shopping Centre in the middle of Birmingham. Brand loyalty is one thing, but the smell of this store was so good I just had to give my £1.50 to Magic Corn rather than to the jolly green guy. I was impressed with the place, only ever having seen corn for sale like this before on holiday in Spain, where it’s always looked a bit ropey to say the least. At Magic Corn you get to see them prepare your order in a giant silver pot, and once it’s ready it’s served to you in a little paper cup. Food in a cup — it’s the future!
Don’t forget corn also makes a nutritious fast food alternative, which is good as Birmingham doesn’t really do a big line in healthy fast food places. Anyway, the Giant didn’t peel back the Pallasades’ roof to pick me up and admonish me for cheating on him. I just about got away with it!
