Holiday Inn Express Birmingham Oldbury M5, Jct.2

As far as hotels go, the Holiday Inn Express in A-​Ok.
Location — Roughly ~30 mins from downtown Birmingham (traffic pending), close to a couple okay restaurants and petrol stations. It’s an ideal location if you’re working downtown but do not want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on your hotel.
Food — The hotel food was some of the best I had while in London. I explored a few restaurants near by and could not find anything I enjoyed. Holiday Inn’s week day dinners cover many bases, are more affordable, and significantly better tasting than 90% of the meals I had on this trip (The braised lamb was especially good).
Staff — The staff was excellent. They were friendly every day, extremely courteous and helpful, always available to address concerns or help me find my way. The staff really made my stay more enjoyable.
Cons
Perhaps it’s just me, but these beds were not the most comfortable. I would have been perfectly happy with the room had the bed been more comfortable.
