I love Indian food but I didn’t know that restaurants dedicated to vegetarian Indian food existed. When my friend recommended we got a take away meal(she’s a vegetarian) I was a little sceptical and didn’t know what to expect. I have to say that I was pleasently surprised and the food was delicious and I actually really enjoyed it. I could taste so many ingredients which I often don’t notice normally. I opted for the potatoe curry which came with a side dish of mango. I normally only use mango as a side dipping sauce for a poppadum but it added such a unique flavour to my main meal.

I love the Chilli Mogo Chips from this place. They taste like heaven and I would come back here just for that. For sure I can see myself visiting this small restaurant again. Gol Gappa specialises in Indian vegetarian food with particular focus on Gol Gappe, Dosa, Chaat and Aloo Tikki. This restaurant can also provide catering for a range of events including weddings and parties. I would be right in saying that this restaurant is not the biggest and you would be better off eating out. The prices of the food may be cheap but the quality is excellent. Having spoken to some of my friends who have been here, they would not hesitate in going back. There are a number of dishes you can order and eat in or eat out. I do like the staff that work here and they do take pride in what it is they do. I know I’m coming back here and I reckon you should give this restaurant a go even if you decide to eat outside.

Indian fast food isn’t given the credibility it deserves. Whilst curries and naans have become household names, few people know what gol gappe or chaat is. Gol Gappa is dedicated to vegetarian fast food, so expect spicey, quick and budget food! They have snacks from across the diverse regions of India with gol gappe and chaat from the North, mogo from the West and dosa from the South. To add a twist they even have pizzas and paninis with a sprinkling of spice! The prices are unbelievably cheap with gol gappe starting from just £1 — the only catch is they’re so addictive you’re bound to run up the bill! They have a wide range of drinks from the subcontinent, which are refreshing on hotter days. It’s not a big eatery and although there is seating, it’s limited over the weekends when they tend to be busy. Take-away is available.
