This store is big. So big, in fact, that Forever 21 are having to downsize it after reports merged that the store lost £2 of every £3 worth of sales. Forever 21 is a a well known chain in the US, and the Birmingham store was their first branch to open in the UK. There are now two other stores in London, but the brand is till relatively obscure beyond the big cities. I don’t mind it. It offers cheap and cheerful«fast-fashion» and the shop is a colourful world of quirky dresses and cheap accessories. It is good place to stock up on basics for work — like cardigans, jersey tops and jumpers. There is so much stock that it can be difficult to wade through it all and find the good stuff. Once you do though, there are fairly nice changing rooms and lots of check outs. The things bought from here tend not to last very long, especially if machine washed. But if you don’t really care about longevity, then one of their £10 cardigans should be right up your street!

I always try and pop into Forever 21 whenever I am shopping round the Bullring, or meeting friends in town. Although a recent addition, a large store with several floors, a coffee area at the back with very good seating, and views, there is only a small section for men’s clothing. You have so much space within the store, it feels like a labyrinth with all the shelves, and I first found it a bit insulting that they only have about 5% of the space for men’s fashion. I have bought a black pair of jeans, casual shirts and a quirky jumper from here. The colour washed out instantly and the jeans are grey, the shirts have lost their shape, the jumper however, that still wears and looks OK. So, the garments aren’t that long lasting, but it’s cheap and cheerful, and you feel the clothes are more desirable and fashionable than Primark. Worth a visit and it’s hard to miss this store when shopping, but I personally don’t spend too much money here anymore.
