I entered Fino’s after a recomendation from a friend who mentioned the speed and skill of a Polish barber there. I have been for four consecutive cuts there now, each in fact from a different barber and I have no complaints at all. I’ve found the key to a successful hair cut is first of all knowing what you want done and then being explicit in explaining this to the barber Location wise it’s a gem being just off the Moseley high street, with the feeling of being in the thick of the action! It’s décor is nice with a few touches which seem to express the owner’s character such as a rather special coat stand and magazine wise I found a Mod magazine so I was happy waiting on my first visit. There are a few barbers in this neck of the woods and i’ve frequented most of them at one time or another, Fino’s is a safe bet and location wise it’s hard to beat.

When looking for a barber I like to find a place that looks slick and modern, if not you are likely to discover an ‘old man’ barbers where no matter what you ask for you will be given a bog standard short back and sides. With this in mind I decided that Moseley Village would be a good place to find someone to take care of my scraggy student hair cut. I was right, I found Fino and I was a happy chappy! The place looked modern, clean and slick, on top of that there wasn’t on old man haircut in sight. They charge reasonable prices too, just over a tenner to get a good cut which isn’t too bad, especially considering you are in Moseley. Friendly staff also which is important when you have to spend time sat in a chair with no escape. I’d definitely recommend Fino to the people of Birmingham and I intend to return there in the near future to once again sort out my wild uncouth hair.

One of the reasons I had long hair for so long was because I didn’t have a hairdressers that I liked to go to. I think one of my reasons for disliking hairdressers so much is because when I was at University I grew dreadlocks. After a year of not washing my hair I decided to go to have the dreads cut off. When I got there the hairdresser was shocked at the state of my hair and made a really big deal out of it. At the end of the cut he charged me an extra 20 quid and told me to never come back again. I’ve had several hairstyles since. Since then I’ve had many Jason Donovan cuts and Justin Bieber style do’s; this has only sought to compound the issue. Fino changed everything for me and now I sport a nice short and relaxed style. This is all thanks to them. A men’s haircut is very cheap at 10.50, but I always seem to give the barber a 5 pound tip because the hairstyles suit me so well. The owners are Polish nationals that speak better English than most people that were born in the UK. If you fancy a chat whilst you are having your hair done then fino will cater to your needs and will provide this additional service. If you dislike small talk like I do then this is also the place for you as the barber will also quite happily cut your hair in silence. Next time you need a quick cut try and forgo wearing a hat and instead spend 10.50 and an hour of your time getting a nice smart haircut. Fino are always happy to help you look smart.
